I forgot to mention.

Nat decided that she knows what kind of vehicle she wants to buy for herself. When she gets a job next year, she wants to save her money and buy one of these...

1953 Chevy.

I wonder who she thinks is going to pay her insurance because I am not. LOL

Today is Friday the 13th. Nah. I am not the superstitious type when it comes to this day.

Tomorrow is Valentine`s day and Sunday is Chelsea`s 20th birthday. She still has not told me what kind of cake she wants. She is going out to dinner with Chris so I do not have to make her a big dinner.

Fred has today off so he and I are going to finish the carpets upstairs this morning. It is going to be another nice and sunny day today. Does not feel like February at all. All the ice is finally gone.

The only real errand I have to do today is to dispute my cable bill. I will do this in person instead of over the phone. At least I still have that option. Surprising that now you can still find a place where you can pay your bill or ask a question to a real live person that is right in front of you. I so want to ditch the cable. There is never anything on tv but they keep raising the rates. Then they make errors on your bill, thinking you will just pay it. Not me.

Okay, off to put on my battle gear.

I will be spending today, as I have all week, in bed or at the computer. I have pneumonia. All I have done all week is sleep then crawl to the computer to connect to the world. I have to go out today to buy some groceries. Either that or go hungry which wouldn't hurt, but need juice, milk, bread, and the real reason I am going out -- cat food.

Hoping to go check out a newish store in town that may actually sell mini-related stuff. Oh, I do hope it does - I want to be able to see and touch things and take my time deciding what I want by looking at the real item, not just pictures.

Bought more hutches as Michael's yesterday to stock up until I decide what to do with them. And more skinny sticks - I seem to go through a lot of them for each section of floor!

I'm hoping my HL or Michael's has some skinny sticks this week! My project for the week is to finish my floors. The attic floor, kitchen floor, and nursery are done. But I still need LR and master BR. Then I can make tiles for the bath during the week. But if I can't find some, I am gonna be upset. I think some teacher or something went on a stick buying frenzy last week, even Walmart was out of them!

I will try to finish painting the attic walls as well, and get a ceiling light up in my pantry roombox. I got the little apron done to hang on the wall rack, and all I need now is a little girl doll to sit in there, reading her movie magazine! I really want to get this done, and will start looking for dolls on Ebay.

Today is Chelsea`s 20th birthday. I have to make her cake later on. Vanilla cake with Vanilla frosting. I need to go to the store and pick up some shelled walnuts so I can press them around the outside edge of the cake.

Yesterday I took her to get her hair done. The night before Fred and I went to the casino to have dinner and hang out. I was so wiped out from both days that all I did was sleep.

I am going to work on the Arthur some today. I have been steadily working on her every day lately. I have a deadline..LOL I want to get as much done as I can now because I have wood flooring to make. That takes time and alot of attention so I want to have the extra time to do it.

Did anyone catch the movie Somewhere in Time last night? I LOVED that movie when I was a young girl. LOVED it. I was happy to revisit it last night after not seeing it in decades. Chris Reeve was so young and handsome. Jane Seymour was so young and beautiful.

This week I am off to buy a Car - a Honda Element (or Toaster with wheels or tissue box). The lease is up on the H3 and we're so happy to be rid of it. That thing was a pain in the behind and a gas guzzler since we moved out of the city and to the rural country where I have to drive 25 miles just to get a gallon of milk.

Is that the movie where the couple live in an old house and she somehow finds a way to travel back in time? Then she decides that she wants to stay there. Her present day husband wants to know that she will be ok, so near the end of the movie, he ends up finding old paintings in the attic of the house of Jane and her family through the years. Or, am I thinking of a movie with Lindsey Wagner?

Or was it the one with the desk and the old post office, where they exchange letters across time until the old post office burns up?

Whichever one it was, I missed it last night, but would have loved to have seen it again, as I'm sure I've seen it before.

Edit: Oh, it's the one where Chris finds a new penny in his striped suit and gets pulled back to the present time!

No,

Chris Reeve is a playwright. The night of his first play, an old woman comes up to him after the show, gives him a old watch, and tells him to come back to her. Nine years later he is a popular playwright. He needs a break so he goes and drives around and finds a hotel that he stays at for some R&R. He finds out about Jane Seymours character was a actress from 1912 (the old woman), he investigates, and time travels back to when she was young...

Very mushy mushy.

Very mushy mushy.

That's my kind of movie, although DH and I also have other tastes e.g. Die Hard 1 and 2 are must sees around Christmas, along with the Sound of Music, various versions of A Christmas Carol, Santa Claus 1 and 2, etc.

we realized yesterday that Jaxon's 1st Birthday will be Thursday

if all goes well I and his momma will be working and so we had his party today.

the cake is too cute. my friend did it for us and it was uber cute!

I helped but my cake decorating skills are beginner at best. he surprised us all with 3 steps all by his self! it was soo cute...when he saw he was doing it ...he sat down! wont be long before he will be going going GONE!

nannie and Papaw got him a train to ride on...one of them leapfrog toys...lots of bells and whistles dings and dongs...he was quite amused with the BOX!

but before I left he was pulling himself up and walking behind it with the handle/seatback..

he is such a sweetie pie! and loves to cuddle.

today was a good day...tomorrow it is run run run...we are finally signing the refinance loan(sigh)

and than mom and I are going on a real shopping trip on my son....we found him an aptment!!

so we have to get stuff...towels,trashcan,cleaning supplies, yanno all those things that make up a day to day life. we have been doing some shopping with our own money...but we are done with that for now...it his place he needs to pay for setting it up...we will go borrowed and cheap and than he can replace as he feels the need...just like we all did when we got out on our own.

Im looking forward to his arrival....he could be here on moving day! LOL

mom told him we were fixing it up our way and he could feel free to do whatever he wants to make it his when we are gone and we wont care....LOL...

sometime Tuesday I will return to my Best Buy job. definatly looking forward to that! and the MONEY!

Chelsea`s birthday cake is a definite keeper. I had to put margarine, brown sugar, and diced apples in a frying pan until all the juices were gone and the apples were caramelized. It was a basic vanilla cake recipe but I had to add a teaspoon of cinnamon and a 1/2 teaspoon of nutmeg. Then fold in the cooled off apples.

The cake was marvelous and moist! I will post the recipe later. It came with a Penuche type frosting but I just used regular vanilla frosting.

No school this week! I get to sleep in....or sleep in as much as MonsterFace will allow. Chelsea has no work today so she will be down for the count for a few more hours.

Nice sunny day outside today. It will get up into the 40s. I keep praying for no more snow.

I am going to paint all the little posts for the Arthur white and stain the rails to match the front door. I am almost done painting the window boxes. Another coat should do it.

I am thinking I am going to do what Deb did with the roof shingles. I am going to do the watered down coloring but in grey.

What I thought would be a new store that would also carry mini stuff was an arts & crfat store that I had already been too. Did manage to pick up some tiny tiles, some molds for polyclay that can be run through the pasta machine, some scrapbook paper with potential for wall paper, some silver paint to change brass-looking fixtures, some molding clear gel (hope I can get it to look like water), two small wooden trunks, and some scrapbook frames to use for pictures in a dh.

Not what I wanted to buy, but at least I found a few things.

I love 'somewhere in time'. It was filmed here in michigan on mackinac island in the grand hotel.

I have been cleaning. 10 garbage bags of trash so far - and that was only one bathroom and 3 closets. That does not include the 3 garbage bags of stuff for freecycle. I found a bottle of teething soother. My daughter is 26 if that gives you any idea of how long it's been....

Hehe  I guess moving can be good in some ways, you basically have to sort through everything each time.

I'm hoping to pick up our new old car today, but they didn't phone me to confirm last night, so i'm guessing we won't get it today. Anyway, I better go to work.

Good luck Deana with the continuation of your sorting.

Should be doing laundry, again :groan: , but don't really feel like it. Also have to go buy some groceries this afternoon. With a son who has to eat 6 times a day B) plus two other kids and DH, we tend to go through food rather quickly it seems. Did get some mini-ing in already - added more paperclay stones to the front of the dh. A long way to go yet before it is finished, but I can only do so much at a time, so that is what I do. Also learning how to blend dry and wet, since I can't always stop at an edge.

Not sure what else I will do today - probably a nap soon :giggle:

I feel all discombobulated today. It is winter vacation and I woke up later then usual. It does not feel like a Tuesday. Nat is staring at me cause she is bored (i am ignoring her...hahahaha) and I feel like I am under a microscope. I want to just work on the Arthur, do a little housework, and spend time with Fred (he has the day off).

I do not want to shuttle anyone anywhere at all today.

I am in a Spring cleaning mood though. I am going to get up here in a bit and take down all the curtains on the first floor. Wash and hang wet. While they are being washed I want to clean the ceiling fan here in the dining room and change the direction switch.

Arthur is calling to me. I messed up on the porch step risers. One side is higher then the other. Going to tap on it with hammer (lightly) to fix it and then glue it back into place.

That will be my day..oh yeah.I am still in my PJs.

John has been home with a virus. So between making soup and tip toeing around while he rests I am not getting too much done. Iast week my van stalled while I was doing errands, had to be twoed to the repair shop so I was home bound not getting much done. Today I am back on schedule and have lots of errands to do etc. So..why am I sitting here at the computer? Rita

How quickly can the day change...shortly after I finished posting and before I even got to close my eyes, the school called and I had to go pick up J-F because he was very tired and actually was having a nap at school. Ended up bringing him home with me. Spooke to the hospital, and his insulin doses are being changed again as his blood sugar keeps going too low late morning and before breakfast.

So much for what I wanted/needed to do, I am just too tired now.
