Time for another update!

I've progressed on the kitchen, to the nearly done with the furniture stage.

just have to do some varnishing of the counter tops and doors/drawers. There will be a 1 1/2 sink above the double doors, but saving up for it at the moment.

Also haven't done any of the trim - ie skirting/cornice bits yet.

Found some cool wallpaper in a scrap booking shop, so decided on that for the passage. I originally had the closed stairs in there, but they took over the room too much I thought. So made some airy gapped ones instead!

There's some trim missing - thought I had a picture with it in, but can't find it now :D Still missing the landing banister too.

During one of my shopping trips I found a battery pack light thing, so that'll sit in the hall way (disguised as a cupboard) - which is also why the wires come out there!

Next to work on is the attic. It is going to house the lounge with tv, and the teenage daughters bedroom. She'll be sleeping on a futon which I have yet to make. Her ceiling will be dark blue with stars on. I've made a built in shelving unit - the tall bit will have hanging clothes in it, and the bottom of the shelves may be made into drawers. Not sure what else to put in her room.

The lounge bit at the moment will potentially have bean bags in it. I think. And a load of plants too probably.

Anyone have any other ideas/visions? Please share!

And this is the master bedroom with all the trim now installed! Still need to make the bed up, and some cushions for the sofa/chair, and also install the carpet.

Notice the sweet lamp on the bedside table? :D

Wow.

This is incredible! What a fantastic job!!

I really, really love the kitchen. It's awesome.

Everything is so adorable!

I would put either a kitty or dog (sleeping?) in the lounge...whichever you prefer? I might put a little magazine rack in there too, with itty bitty magazines...or maybe some board games.

Are you putting mini-posters in the teenage girl's bedroom?

Looking great, I really like that wicker/wire furniture, you can do so much with it, and its so affordable. Ive thought of trying to paint some pieces, pale pink maybe.

Anyways, great job:) I also think copper pots would look nice in that kithen and maybe a few red accents.

It looks great! I love the kitchen!! I would try facing the nbefd toward the fire place, imo a more realistic arrangement, and that way you can still see it if you peek through the window. :please:

Muriel, I love the colors and I can't wait to see how it will all look when it's done. You are doing an outstanding job! I still love that backsplash in your kitchen and the colors are so bright & cheerful!

I'm making more progress on the attic today! Chris banished me from the sitting room (well he was watching Scrubs and said he was going to be watching the scrubs marathon, and if I didn't want to watch I could go to another room!) So I went into the hobby room and did some work on the Willow.

I knew what I was going to do in the bedroom (right side of attic),

but wasn't sure about the lounge/tv room bit. Had some more dark and light blue card that i could use, but it was too much like the bedroom. Looked through my stash of other colours and wallpaper and came across a scrapbook piece of paper with a cool half flower on. But it was too big. So I scanned, shrank and edited it to complete the flower. Then put it on a light yellow/cream background. Then had to decide on the window wall. again looked through my collection, but none of the colours grabbed me. So found the black with white swirles and thought that'd go great! Kept the window frames and skirting board the light yellow colour to match the sloped ceiling. Now just debating the colour for the stair railing and the divider wall (another bold design of some sort?)

Muriel, your house is wonderful. I am in awe of anyone who can make a kitchen from scratch - absolutely brilliant. Your ideas are so original and unique which makes for the most interesting houses. Keep it up girl and keep feeding us the pics - they're great.

This is truly a lovely house. To add my  I would possibly paint the cupboards and counters a crisp white with tiny blue knobs, add very light blue painted walls and

keep the windows dark stained. Just an idea.. :D

Well I've only just built and painted the kitchen the colours I've got, so I think I'll leave it for the time being. But do like your idea Llyn, just not quite the look I was after. Maybe when I renovate in a few years time

I just like that the lounge bit in the attic is so different from other parts of the house. Think the sitting room downstairs is a bit funky (for lack of a better word) with the gold striped paper on the fireplace wall, so some funkyness in the top floor is ok too.
