Minis On The Edge
I have a Beacon hill kit downstairs I want to bash. It is missing the tower top and a bay window but that is all (I think). I bought it from a dollhouse shop 1 year ago when it closed for only $10. I could not pass that up for sure. My plans are to bash it and make it an abandoned house. If only I had my work work NOW . MiniMadWoman
Looking good Brooke! You're climbing those stairs magnificently! Tracy, I can't wait to see you get started on that Beacon Hill! Whatever you do I know it will be amazing!! Did you say abandoned? . . . I'd buy it up from whoever in a flash!!
LizB
Wow, that is so weird - I painted/ stained my stair case last year (I've been working on mine for a year and 1/2 now) that very same way! I even sanded the treads down in the middle to look like wear spots. -L
LizB
Oh, not exactly, now that I look closer at the pictures. I stained the first banisters and last of each staircase too. Did you have trouble with the first floor staircase? I had to jam it in and it barely fit. -L
BrookeinBe
Oh good idea about wearing the middle out a little!! I did have problems with it at first, until I realized I put a piece of trim on before I was supposed to! LOL I got excited and skipped that little part! Anya
Oh cool you have the same colour scheme as mine. I do think it really shows off the railings well doesn't it? I remember when mine looked like yours. Building a house is like giving birth. You look back and think 'How on earth did I manage that'? But then you're mad enough to go through it again, not with the birth part though, just building dolls houses. Your house is looking very good! ChicagoSassy
I'm also making the BH, and wondering how to do the stairs. Paint/Stain, or all Stain. Yours look really nice. This is my first post, and first DH. Where should/could I put my pictures? I don't want to intrude on anyone's blog.. Is there a place for pictures for specific houses? I also did a test fit of the 1st floor staircase, and had to sand down the upper part that meets against the wall, and it fit fine then. Working on the 2nd fl staircase now.
