lapetiteminis Posted September 29, 2008 Share Posted September 29, 2008 Hi to all of you, A customer, Susanna G., told me about this forum. So of course I checked it out and it is a great site!! I love all your pictures of the wonderful miniatures you are doing. I had a miniature store from 1974 to 1989 in Paramus, NJ. My store was quite small so I sold every kind of miniature I could find, but I never had space for large dollhouses. So the only dollhouses I sold were Greenleaf Kits!! I know this sounds like a plug...but it is true. I always thought they were a great base kit to start with and to expand on. I actually built the 1/2" Fairfield for myself many years ago. I used houseworks windows and doors. I installed hardwood floors throughout. I covered the outside with a combination of siding and 2 different style shingles, making it a true victorian. Unfortunately it is packed away right now. The place we are living just doesn't have enough room for me to display my whole collection. Soon we will be moving to a larger house. My husband and I are the sole caregivers for his 94 year old mother and my 88 year old mother. Some of you know me as Lorraine Scuderi, I dressed beds. I bet you have some pretty neat items you've collected over the years. After you have 5 posts you can open a gallery and show us! My hat off to you for being a caregiver. 12 years ago I was the primary caregiver for my terminally ill mother. I do have an incredible collection of miniatures, but unfortunately they have been packed away for about 10 years. Hopefully shortly we will be moving into a larger home so our mom's can live with us and I can display my collection. I will post some pictures at that time of my Fairlfield.
