champagne Posted June 8, 2008 Share Posted June 8, 2008 Hello everyone. My name is Sharon and I live outside Savannah, GA. I have loved dollhouses since I was a little girl but my family was never able to afford them. My fiance found out how much I have always wanted one so about a year and a half ago he bought me a beautiful dollhouse kit. It is by Duracraft, called The Alexandria (which I believe is now out of business). Circumstances being what they were, we were unable to start the dollhouse until just last week. We have now primed all the wood and have temporarily fit the pieces together to see how they would fit. Seems like it is going to be lots of work because it doesn't all fit as tightly as I thought it would. We are going to take our time, I have to do some research on Victorian house so that I can model it correctly and then display it in the foyer of the home. I work fulltime as most do so it will be a long drawn out process. I hope to talk with everyone here and I am so excited I found this site!!! But there are a few of us here who have built the Alexandria, so you'll find help if you need it. I look forward to seeing what you do with your Alexandria.
