caligal
Hello everyone! I'm happy to have found this site. I have loved dollhouses for as long as I can remember, but have never made one. I always wanted one and used to spend a lot of time in the craft store looking at the wonderful creations there. I even remember trying to get as many entries as I could into a raffle box for a raffle for a dollhouse at Michael's when I was 8 while my mother was getting her purchase. I didn't win. In a bit of cosmic justice, I had two daughters (ages 3 and 1) so I have the perfect excuse to get into this hobby. I am so excited to learn from the members here and get advice on making my first house. Although I know they can't play with them yet, I look forward to making something special in the future that can be used as a family heirloom. I stay at home with the girls, but I write online and create websites for a living. As a work at home mom, I'm looking forward to having something just for me, even if I only have a few hours per week to do it! havanaholly
Welcome to the "little" family, Courtney. Babies are the very best minis of all! Have you decided which kit you want to build first? Have you tried your hand at making any mini accessories or furniture, to get an oar in, so to speak? The "Search" button is your friend, but so are all of us. We like questions, and if we don't know the answer someone will experiment around to figure out an answer, or encourage you to do so. Sit back, grab a cuppa and join in the fun & occasional hilarity. chesterfieldzoo
Welcome. Now that the formalities are over - you really have to pick out a house to build - or maybe start with a roombox?

james dean
to the group. For a first dollhouse I'd suggest something like the Orchid it's tab and slot assembly which is incredibly easier than an Mdf house to assemble ( at least I think.) Also you can google "dollhouses" and a list of websites will appear. When I first started building dollhouses I went through the websites comparing prices etc. until I found one that looked good. Feel free to ask questions and good luck in finding a dollhouse. :jumping:
