To answer your questions, Becca, my wood flooring is not comprised of individual strips, rather than a big sheet. And Irene, I agree with you about the purple thing. In fact, I am going to paint the siding of my house purple with white trim. Less supportive members of my family roll their eyes when I tell them, cause they must not like purple or something, I don't know.
