Hallowell
This house is beautiful, but ouch on the price. http://cgi.ebay.com/BEAUTIFUL-HAND-CRAFTED...1QQcmdZViewItem
newt
ooooooooooo, pretty! pretty! that price is ... breathtaking. do they offer payroll withholding? Thanks for the eye candy. wish there were more photographs!
CJEP
Oooh, it is really pretty. I remember being told that the builder is famous, so I'm guessing that is why the price is so much.
havanaholly
That's not a bad price for Ned Kellogg, if you can afford a "name" artisan. IMPHO I think there are many of our members who are quite capable of turning out something just as pretty.
Hallowell
I know that I'm sure gonna try. I taken a close look at the pictures and it all seems very doable.

uppitycats
I was just going to bring this over here. Lovely house....but that's about what we paid for our first REAL house....40 years ago..
chesterfieldzoo
Yeah. We had a whole discussion on museum pieces and one of a kind houses. I think they are fishing. I don't see that house selling for that price empty.

havanaholly
that's about what we paid for our first REAL house....40 years ago.. That was my annual income as a hospital social worker in the early '70s!
Kalygirl
Greg, I'm sure you can make something that nice, if not nicer...sooooo I DARE YOU
KathieB
The outside looks very nice and craftsmanlike. It appears that the shingles are a bit smaller than standard dh shingles, which gives it a "real" look, and the chimney shape is lovely. However, from what they are showing us, the inside leaves a bit to be desired. There are many houses posted in this forum that are more carefully finished, I think. What's with those scruffy looking wires? I wish they would put up more shots of the inside. BTW, my starting salary as a teacher in 1963 was $2M less than the asking price. What a topsy turvy world we live in.

Hallowell
Yikes, I've been dared. But it's not yet a triple dog dare, so I have time to think about a project.
CatColorado
The exterior is lovely. The price gave me a headache.
MiniMadWoman
Wow, that really is a beautiful house. I think for the price though, they could have hid the electrical on the back of the house.
Kalygirl
you really want me to go there, Greg?
havanaholly
Greg, I would triple-dog-dare ya, but I know you could do it, and probably will now that we've slipped the bee into your bonnet!

ilovecats
Although it is beautiful....more than i would be willing to spend on it. Think of how many dollhouses you could buy for that price!
Lisa_F
It is a beautiful house - I'd love to have the skill to make something so nice (if it's a learned process and not a genetic gift - someday maybe!) but I gotta tell ya, I have been through the gallery here at this forum many many (did I say many?) times and I have seen quite a few houses from members here that (at least to me) are far more stunning.
