Here's a picture of the living room wood flooring that I finished tonight. I've posted more pictures in my album, if you'd like to take a look. It hasn't been sanded or verathaned yet. I'll put weights on the whole thing tonight and perhaps sand tommorrow. The big space in the living room floor is for a Lawbre Eastlake fireplace I'd like to put in, with a marble hearth. What do you think?

Great job! Where did you find the flooring? I bought strips like that a while ago, but I forgot where

I noticed you're in Washington. I am up here in Bellingham. Do they have the flooring at a store near you? I have only been to the dollhouse cottage in Kirkland. Do you know of any other great stores? Anyway, great job!!!!!

It looks perfect and I can't wait to see it with the fireplace in place as well. I like the look you have achieved and are those individual strips you have put in?

I am getting inspired to put in new flooring!!!!

Hugs

Peggy, I love your house! It's already so wonderful, so I can imagine how great it will look when it's all the way done. I especially like the furry visitor...obviously your cat thinks the building was done just for him/her!

Great job on the flooring...great all-round job on everything!

The floor looks great, be even nicer sanded and clear coated. Lawbre make THE BEST fireplaces IMHO, never seen another company that maker ones nearly as nice. Actually pretty much everything they make is great, it'll look really good in that room.

Thanks for all you nice words, folks! The wood I used is some I've had around for many years and never got a chance to use. They are just strips of real golden oak...like the cherry or walnut wood strips you can buy for flooring. I sanded it a bunch today and will sand a little more and then put on the first coat of verathane tonight. I'll take more pictures and put them in the album. I'm hoping the verathane will really bring out the grain and the golden color.
