New Day
Well, this is a GREAT topic! I am relieved (and a little jealous). What is it about this hobby that makes us need so many? I am totally of two minds here - I sometimes swear I won't even think about getting another house, at least until I finish some of what I have already. And then an hour later, I'm cruising ebay and craigslist for a "new house fix". Luckily, DH seems to be infinitely accepting! I know he thinks my real hobby is reading about/looking at other people's dollhouses and buying stuff for dollhouses, not really finishing anything. So, here's my list. Short, but growing all the time: Foamcore Colonial I built and actually finished Dura-Craft Sweetheart completed for my DD Homemade house, built from "Elmers' Doll House" pattern (given to me by a good friend, I am still refurbishing it) Greenleaf Pierce I bought off of Craigslist (being refurbished) Front opening Georgian I bought built, but not finished (slowly working on) Dura-Craft Pioneer Log Cabin (I am halfway done building this) Dura-Craft Sweetheart from yard sale last year (waiting to be refurbished) Unknown Colonial shell from flea market, so far just primed Still in box: Artply Tiffani CC Primrose I think my real problem is that I can't pass up a "deal", or get off of the computer. Of course, refurbishing is not cheap, but they all seem like bargains in the beginning! Traci ps - this has been very theraputic for me. I am really motivated to get in there and make some progress on these poor neglected babies!

bmatson
Well I have been working on my first house, the Beacon Hill, for 2 months now. I am just starting to put the mansard roof on. I love working on it!! I work best when I can concentrate on one thing at a time. Therefore, I have not been even thinking about getting another house. That is not to say, though, that I have not been looking! My wish list is quite long.....I sent my husband a list the other day. All of the houses I want are very, very large, and somewhat costly. After DH looked at the list and the houses and prices, he just said "oh". So I wasn't quite sure how to take that. Since I'll be working on my BH from now until, forever, it's not a problem now anyway. Here are just SOME houses on my wishlist: Foxhall Manor Sterling Estates Queen Anne Garfield North Park Mansion Newport Bostonian

uppitycats
Well, I just discovered this thread and see that it was started over a year ago -- when I had just the Garfield, and was still under the mistaken impression she would be the ONLY house I'd build... and then came The Greenleaf Village Brimble, a rehab Washington, another rehab RealGood toys victorian; came to me in a shell but needs finishing and decorating Greenleaf Country House, in the box Emerson Row, in the box Greenleaf greenhouse Greenleaf arbor 17 HOM furniture kits and I'm arranging to donate a large chunk of my book collection so I'll have more room and my husband is planning to build his own dollhouse from scratch.... I guess we're hooked.
