my first dh the orchid

I have always wanted a wooden dollhouse ever since i was about 5 years old. my mom couldn't afford to give me what i really wanted. i ended up getting one of those tin dollhouses with plastic furniture. i enjoyed playing with it, but it wasn't the same. about 3 years ago i decided to go for it and buildthe orchid. i chose the orchid for many reasons, a couple being the price and the size. i didn't want to get overwhelmed with a large dh, just wanted to get my feet wet. i also like the charming look of the orchid. it just seemed like a perfect starter. i eventually plan to do another one in the future. right now my orchid is unfurnished and displayed on a high wall shelf in my dining room. it really was a fun build.

i took all the furniture out because the way i have it displayed, you can only see the front of the house, it's not on a turn-table and besides it's too high up for anyone to peek through the windows. i decided to use the furniture for another house.

Hi Kimberly

Your Orchid is Sooo Beautiful. It is so real looking.

I Love it!

The Orchid was the first dh I built and went all over with.

I built another dh many years ago that my mom bought for my nieces, but I just glued it.

I do agree that the Orchid is an affordable kit and a good kit to start with. By the way, this hobby is so addicting.

You're Orchid Is very Pretty! It's a great first house. It's so cute From the front, I think displaying the way you have it great, there's plenty to see just from the outside.
