Tams
I can see this house from my front yard, but never realized until the other day that it looks like the Beacon Hill? I told my husband that, but he didn't agree. What do you think?
Minis On The Edge
The style of the house looks very Italianate (The Beacon Hill does too) do you have more pictures? The bay looks like the Beacon Hill also. They look like they are in the same family for sure!
CJEP
Personally I always find the name Beacon Hill for the house that it is kind of funny. Since Beacon Hill is a neighborhood in Boston where the state Capital is and is considered wealthy, but looks nothing like the Greenleaf Beacon Hill. Apartments I have known in Beacon Hill are small and there aren't any houses just rows of houses/apartments. Here is a link to a picture of the exterior of a typical street in Beacon Hill. Beacon Hill It is beautiful and always well kept, but always crammed and small. Just my sense of irony I guess.
heidiiiii
It does have some aspects of a BH. After I looked at some BHs in the gallery I realized that my favorite house also looks like one too. Gallery photo I patterned my Marquam Hill Mansion sort kinda after this house. I would die to live in either one of these houses yours or mine..
IAK
I can see the simularities. Heidi that really does look alot like the BH.. Cool pictures
havanaholly
It would be possible to bash a BH to look more like that house, always thought the name referred to "Beacon Hill" in San Francisco...
Ms. Mini
i can see the similarities and heidi that house does look alot like the beacon hill!
wenlaine
Tams, does the house in the picture have a mansard roof? It's hard to tell from the pic but I would think that would be one of the telling features.
Blondie
I wanted my Beacon Hill because I've always loved the house in Beetlejuice. http://tubulamarok.free.fr/beetlejuice/bee...e-maison-02.jpg
LuvDylan&Holly
I always think of the Beacon Hill when I see a mansard roof now. I used to think of the Norman Bates house, but now the lovely Beacon Hill has pushed aside my morbid association. I guess that's what happens now that I have a 24/7 obsession with my dollhouse. It's hard to tell from the pic but I would think that would be one of the telling features. From what I'm told, it did before they renovated it. This is actually the Mellette House. It was the home of the first governor of South Dakota. This picture is one that I snagged from a website somewhere. I will have to try to get a better picture of it after Christmas. chesterfieldzoo
Great looking houses! All of them. I passed a house today that looked like the willowcrest. Funny, I never thought about these things before, now I look at houses and try to figure out which dollhouse they look like!
doogster
That first house sure has enough style features close the BH that you could finish a BH in the same way. Brick, with the bays in paint. Could be a stunning departure from the norm. ;)
Skittiescat
It's a life sized Fairfield! See:
havanaholly
Hmmm. The brickwork would be a tad tedious, but I think you're onto something...
whippet-gal
yes, I agree: the Fairfield was my first thought. It's a lovely house. Jackie (in a foggy UK)
