heidiiiii
Fred saw gastro today. He has to have a CatScan sometime within this month and he is scheduled for a upper endoscopy. On Valentine`s Day!.. I guess I have to rework our plans for that day. Dr has no clue what is bothering him so he wants to roto rooter him to see what he can see. *i am making myself some pancakes now..I need some starchy goodness right now*
KathieB
That's good, Heidi ... tests aren't fun, but knowing what's going on ... that's priceless!
Shy Spirit
I hope the doctor can sort out what's going on with Fred and fix him up quickly. You all deserve some good news - your road has been so rough lately. You mentioned in another thread that you had bought an hour's massage for Fred. I hope you bought one for yourself, too. Doesn't do to neglect your own well-being because you're too distracted. Hang in there, Heidi!
heidiiiii
No Shy, I did not buy an hour of massage for myself. I was looking on their website because I was thinking of getting Fred another 1 hour and I saw that they do Hot Rock therapy. I might actually be interested in that. He is a bit freaked...he doesnt show it but I can tell. He has never ever been put to sleep before. I told him not to stress out..he will be okay..1 sec you are awake..the next second they are waking you up. Plus they wont knock him out as much as they do for surgery. I am hoping that it is something very treatable. Nothing scary.. He is a very important part of our lives and we arent ready to return him yet. 3 more days until he has it done... We wont be doing anything really for Valentine`s Day. He is going to be woozy and throat will be sore.

Am here for you for chat, vent or a (((( )))) Hugs Anna, I can use it..Really. I feel like I am a walking zombie lately. Too many things going on and my brain doesnt want to deal with it. I am okay on the mental health front though, no worries there. I have a great dr who is keeping tabs on me. I just do not want to do anything. I have to force myself to do the normal everyday things. Gotta go now..Nat is breathing down my neck for the computer...LOL

He is going to be woozy and throat will be sore. The Hot Rocks therapy would be a great choice! (Never had it myself, but I saw a report about it on TV - it seemed really therapeutic.) If you do nothing other than quietly appreciate each other on Valentine's Day - you will have spent the day well. Tell Fred that he's going to have an aura of positive energy surrounding him - lots of healing power sent along with it, too! It helps if he's open to the idea, but it's going to be with him either way. Oh, and I'm working on a warm, fuzzy batch especially for you, Heidi! I havent been showing how I really feel because I do not want to freak him out. When YOU are the sick one, it becomes routine...testing, MRIs, surgery, pills, specialists.. I have always (ALWAYS) made lite of what I was going thru. Tried to make them feel better so they do not worry. I am worried about what the test might show but not a whole lot. I am more feeling for him because he has never had to do any of this. He does not like testing, Catscans, surgery, pills and specialists..He watched his grandfather die when he was a teenager (grandfather raised him) and he gets bad memories from it. I think I will put some money aside this week and make him and I both a hot stone therapy appt.
Peggi
Heidi, just know that all the "peeps" Deb has by her side right now are also there holding your hand and sending you positive energy and thoughts. Just going thru the cancer surgery a year ago and now waiting to see why all his recent blood work is out of whack with my own soulmate, I do understand where you are coming from. Anna
Am here for you Heidi and I so understand the feeling of not wanting to share that you are distressed yet you still feel it. been there, done that myself as I rely on hubby being the one who is "strong" and me who have had the health issues during the years. So will be sending loads of positive energy your way as well for tomorrow! Hugs
heidiiiii
Fred got the call from the Outpatient Surgery unit yesterday. He has to be there at 6:30am tomorrow. Hehehehehe. He works tonite until 11:15pm so that means he is going to be a very tired patient. They said the surgery should take between 10-15 mins. He told them he has never done this before and they better make sure he wakes up.. I will have to get up early tomorrow. Wake Natalie up for school...take him to the hospital...drive Nat to school...and then come back to get the groggy patient. I told him to be happy..At least he isnt getting the Hoover treatment (both ends)..hehehe Dr. told him not until he is 50.

Shy Spirit
It's a good thing he has work to keep his mind occupied - he won't have time to brood until afterwards! I also understand the "I won't scare everyone and burden them with worry so I'll keep it to myself" syndrome. I think (in loosely general terms) women are more likely to behave that way than men. No offense, guys - but in my personal experience - men are the worst patients/sickies! Fred is probably not letting on quite how much anxiety he's feeling - so I hope he doesn't mind the blanket statement I just made about the guys. I don't mean to belittle his feelings in the least. You are both in my thoughts, Heidi - lots of positive energy zapping through the airways!
heidiiiii
Fred has his CatScan scheduled for Monday. He found out he has to drink 2 bottles of the contrast before he goes in.. Yuck! They are moving and grooving with this though. I am happy they are getting this all done so he can find out what is going on and do what needs to be done with it. heidiiiii
I dropped him off about a half an hour ago. The hospital will call me around 9:30am to pick him up..Now it is the waiting game.........
Muriel
I'll be waiting with you! Hope it goes quickly for you and you can pick him up soon. Do you have any plans to keep you occupied (apart from dropping Nat off)?
heidiiiii
I dropped her off awhile ago. The hospital just called. The person ahead of him never showed up so he has been bumped up. I have to pick him up at 8:30am...Only an hour to wait thank goodness. Thanks Muriel.
Muriel
Thats good! Because of sleeping through USA late afternoons/evenings it takes me an hour to catch up on forum posts in the morning! If you're done catching up on posts I'm sure the gallery can distract you a bit...
heidiiiii
He is home and is tucked into bed. Everything went fine. Doctor says everything inside is normal and they took a biopsy to test for good measure. He still has his CatScan on Monday. Thank you everyone.
