lookin good!

I always love starting a new kit.

now before you prime the walls and such make sure you have anything ya want stained for the natural wood look out of the way.

my thoughts on the Willow...its a little bland on the outside....I guess I just love the fiddly bits...but the inside has some great details. I think you will enjoy doing this house....I know I will enjoy your photos.

nutti

Oh My Goodness!! Is it as simple to put together as you just showed in your pictures? It looks wonderful and Simple to do (See you must be a pro, it looks so easy in your pictures). I can't wait to see more. That built in book case looks wonderful too! have you picked outside colors yet?

hi debra, what a fabulous job you've done so far. Are you aware that the Jefferson that I'm working on is very similar to your Willow? I found it a great house to work on and the rooms are so spacious. I'm not sure if the measurements are the same for both houses but I found there are so many things you can do or change if you choose. I'm so looking forward to seeing what you do with yours. It's a beautiful house and make sure you check out William's Jefferson in the Gallery, he did a terrific job on his.

lol. First an allmighty belly laugh at nutti, no offence taken, I just thought that they sent it anyway I might as build it lol. :(

Yes it does seem easy to construct, I have decided to do one room at a time, then complete the outside. I have not even attempted the stairs yet

The bookshelves if I must say so turned out great, it is printed brick work and paper, boy that was a bit tricky around the mantle lol, next time paper goes on first lol.

The mirror, was a recycled makup compact case mirror (finished) and I used some of the wood that is left over to make the frame.

I was maybee thinking I would rip up a straw broom (new) and make a thatched roof, I want to make it more like the old colonial Australian days.

And either rock or sandstone for the walls, possibly the later, more Australian.

There are a lot of these types of colonial buildings at Ballarat, where the Eurika Stockade took place, and Port Arthur in Tasmania, which I sure needs no explaining.

Oh well I must away to work now, got to pay for these some how lol.

Hello from Oz, I came home from work tonight and nearly finished the lounge room :) (only the window and stairs Oh and floor lol to go :( ) I think though I may still go over the ceiling with a textured type paint, we have one here that covers all sorts of sins  lol.

The ceiling cornice are actually round wooden meat skewers :o :( (cut to fit)lol.

I had that thought while I lay awake last night thinking about my house lol ;)

I was thinking of cutting down icy pole sticks for the skirting, I have some proper skirting and cornice and daddo rails on order, but I think I will keep that for my BH.

I am also going to go over all the white trim paint with a white high gloss....

I was also thinking about the family that will be moving in, (while I was in the shower) I do some very strange things, lol that's what old age does to you....

They will be the Hampton-Smyths, a middle class family with one child.....They also hide a very dark secret, that may well be revealed on moving day..........

I hope you enjoy my pics as much as I like sharing them....

I still can't believe I have never built one of these before. :D ...It is so addictive.... :)

Wow Debra! You're moving right along and I'm falling in love with this house as I watch your progress! I love the bookcases, fireplace, and the wallpaper is perfect in that room! Love your "crown moulding" too! What a great idea!

Hi all, Thanks for the support. :) I have only put the second coat on the ceilings and the lounge window in tonight. :D There was a bottle of Southern Comfort calling me lol....... The window does not seem to fit (done b4 the drink lol) I have decided not to put the stairs in this house, :( but then again that could change....lol As the new occupants have a grand piano....and they insist on having it in the lounge room :(

So they will have to (beam me up scotty lol) to get up stairs. :o

Hopefully by Thursday I will have the rest of the walls papered......... :( I have nearly printed it all out.,

My brother in law here runs a ply mill, that makes the ply wood the same as we work with with these houses, he is going to get me some sheets, veneer, of actual redgum. ;) I have grand ideas of using this for my floors... :)

I will see what happens lol.

Any way pic included, not much change only the window, and a very hopeful cat lol.

Hi everybody  , I have been crook again with my back :) , so I have only got some windows in and some more wallpaper up, still have the windows cornice and skirtings to go, the kitchen will be the room on the bottom left, I am putting daddo rails and boards on.. My brother in law is getting me some redgum sheet for the floors, I will see what it looks like b4 I glue it though, I think it will be too dark... ;) .

I like the idea of tiles in the kitchen, possibly white, as I want a blue and white look.

Ok am off to bed now, got to go to work to pay for my ebay purchases lol..

Hello all, I have been busy with work, so I have done little to my house...

Tonight I added some skirting and daddo and wall boards to the kitchen, the floor is just a pattern I made on the computer, I am yet to size and laminate it, the wall boards are icy pole (popsicle) sticks, cut to size, I think I will just stain or varnish them.....

Hope you enjoy the updated pics, I must away to bed now as it is after midnight lol...
