Steve Panner
Here's my first attempt at larger furred animals, a gray wolf. It's around 3 inches high at the tip of the ears, huge compared to the cats I usually make. A cat only reaches to it's knees. In full scale it would be a medium sized adult male wolf. It's fur is fine natural wool and all the colors of the coat are wool blends, no colors were used on the fur. The sculpture is polymer clay over twisted brass wire armature that continues into the legs, tail and neck. Tail is slightly poseable. I offer free shipping via registered mail which usually takes around 7-10 days to arrive to US. havanaholly
Steve, may I ask what gauge wire you use for your armatures? The book I have is for making critters much larger than 1:12 scale.

Steve Panner
Thank you all! Holly, I don't know the gauge, we use metric system here. For cats and other small critters I use 0.3 mm wire, sometimes twisted sometimes not. On the wolf I used 0.6 mm wire twisted in pairs. I twist it for the clay to grip better. Ravenswing
Fantastic! You nailed the shape of the legs. Not many people get that right. A wolf's legs and feet are quite different in shape from their doggie cousins. Excellent work.
