pinkhare
So I just got my very first dollhouse, The Orchid . I'd love to give it the look of pressed tin cellings. Any idea how I would go about this?
Corwin
Hi and welcome you can either print them off here or use them as a guideand emboss card with a stylus.
uppitycats
You can get plastic sheeting that looks like ceiling (after you paint it) from www.miniatures.com It's Houseworks sheeting, in case you find it in a dollhouse store or somewhere else on line. havanaholly
You can also use heavyduty aluminum foil to emboss a raised design you like (old brooches & jewelry findings are good for this, too) or a heavy bond paper (linen or silk rag). I've used full-sized anaglypta wallpapers for this, too, and paper lace doilies. Once you paint over them (spray enamels in aerosol cans work well) they look good. 4miniloves
I just did an Orchid with tin ceilings for my BFF... we used the plastic sheets, Hobby Lobby has them.
kathi17
I've used the plastic ones too, and they look great!

aggiemae
Other things to try are lace pieces painted over with a couple of coats of paint or plastic lace, they sometimes have this in facric stores by the yard. I like to cut up old plastic placemats when I find them, usually at estate sales and sometimes in thrift shops.

I love the look of tin ceilings- I'll keep an eye out at the dollar store for things like this! I often see cheesy plastic lace but pass it by. Now I know what to do with it.
