orangeglowstx
hey guys, my boyfriend likes the fact that i'm building a dollhouse. And he thought it would be cool if he could build something too. But instead of a dollhouse he wants a boat with a opened back, like a dollhouse. And I've told him about the new boathouse kit. And he doesn't like the shape and how it looks like a big rectangle, and besides 1:12 is to big. He wants something smaller that looks more like a boat, with a open back with rooms, so that he can furnish it himself! Maybe a Yacht, or a really small cruise boat, just some kind of dollhouse boat. Does anybody know if there is a dollhouse boat? Or where I could get one at?
LPCullen
Don't know if it is dollhouse sized, but I believe Hobby Lobby had some boat kits.
sarah handley
It would be quite achievement if he could "bash" the house boat into another type of watercraft. Men always want to change things around. That would be a challenge. Maybe? Nancy
beccas1963
HBS has a houseboat he could bash. I have one sitting here in the box that I might bash a tad hehe. Bec
Hallowell
If he's really handy, there is always scratchbuilding
havanaholly
If he's really handy, there is always scratchbuilding I thought at once of something like the set built for the movie "Steve Zissou and the Life Aquatic".
chesterfieldzoo
I'd go with the houseboat and bash it.
doogster
I've never seen a yacht or other boat/ship shape 'dollhouse' other than the houseboat. Hobby Lobby do sell boat/ship models, but they aint open in the back, I have their QM2 and U-Boat, both about 3 feet long, beauties, but they're full 360 degree models. He might try checking out Mega Hobby on line, they have an unreal range of kits, maybe they have something.
jennybee
I came across these but I'm not sure if they will work. But wow if I liked model ships they are pretty cool. Here is a regular boat
havanaholly
What about building the ship model, but leave one side open to furnish, populate, stow gear & supplies, all in mini?
Steve_in_PA
I'm sure there are tons of boat kits on Ebay or just Google it! I'm sure he can find what he wants.
Jet
How about this: http://mageminimus.free.fr/pirates.htm It's not a boat and yet it is.
Shy Spirit
How about this: http://mageminimus.free.fr/pirates.htm It's not a boat and yet it is. Jet, that is so cool! Most males - and a lot of females - should lap this stuff up. There was a project in a mag last year, I believe. The picture was on the front cover. It was Dollhouse Miniatures, I'm pretty sure. It showed a boat, with a couple of passengers, and food for a day's cruising. I think it had details on making the boat - but I must confess, it didn't interest me, so my recollection is vague. Someone else may recall it better.
