whoistono
Hi Everyone, I just joined. I'm new to miniatures. When I was a young girl I wanted doll houses and miniatures but never got them. When I was in my 20's, 30's, 40's I still wanted them but was told that's for kids. Well guess what the kid is still in me and I still have the desire for miniatures. When I turned 47 I decided to act on it. Since I really didn't know anything about miniatures or making them I did alot of online research. I was totally blown away at all the miniatures that people have made and what it was made out of. For my first miniature I needed something simple to make. I wanted to make a garden. My simple project turned out to be a major one for me and took me over a year. I kept redesigning it and adding to it. I made a garden where the platform was made out of egg catrons for the stone effect. Learned to make plants from paper. I'm still learning how to make flowers from paper. Learned to make trees and shrubs. Learned about printies and cut and glue miniature projects. The garden turned out really good for my first try at doing miniatures. I've learned how to look at things alot differently. Before I throw anything away I say hummm I can use that in a miniature. I'm excited about being here and I know I will learn alot from all of you. havanaholly
Welcome, Janet, your garden is awesome! I play at landscaping, but nothing so gorgeous! I don't believe anyone is ever too old to play! Me, either! Play keeps you young because it releases your inner child. Mine is my favorite playmate.
