thinkinlikegavroche
Does anyone have any good dollhouse doll clothing patterns? I'm hoping to stick with Edwardian/Victorian styles. I have an inspiration board on Pinterest: http://pinterest.com/goatlibrarian/victorian-edwardian-dollhouse-inspiration/ I'd be grateful for any and all patterns and tutorials you can share! Thanks in advance!
mininecessities
I can't help you there, however I also am looking for clothing patterns, but I want just modern clothes, like pants, shirts, coats for men and women and modern dresses?
mininecessities
Oh you can always reduce Barbie clothes patterns, I think it .......is.....say reduce 53% or make them 53% of the original I mean, but I can;t remember. My old copier that resized things is broken, plus yea it is kind of a lot of work........
thinkinlikegavroche
I took the Barbie clothing idea and sure enough, that should work! These are tutorials, rather than being patterns, so size doesn't matter. This is one, but there are others on this same site: http://www.craftinessisnotoptional.com/2010/09/barbie-knit-top-tutorial.html#more
thinkinlikegavroche
Oops, that does have an actual pattern. The gown doesn't: http://www.u-createcrafts.com/2010/09/creative-guest-barbie-ball-gown.html

Ooo! Guess what I found?! Blythe patterns!!! Should be around the right size for 1:12 scale. Maybe a tad big... I can't wait to try! Lots of modern patterns, but can also be adapted for historical! http://www.puchicollective.com/sewing-patterns/

havanaholly
For Victorian/ Edwardian I LOVE Sue Atkinson's book. For modern stuff you can prowl thrift stores for old patterns and use the sheet that shows what all the pattern pieces look like.

thinkinlikegavroche
I actually borrowed that book through interlibrary loan, over a year ago. I didn't have my dolls made yet, back then. I guess I need to get it again! :-)
mininecessities
Oh yes, now I remember that book, have been wanting to get it but I forgot about it. I do have a pattern book for Victorian Clothes .....I suppose it wouldn't be that hard to convert them to modern clothes. I like to just follow patterns so I don't have to think. But there again,,,,,,,,, dolls are such different sizes. I have clay bodies made up for all sorts of people. I think I am done selling on ebay so maybe I can get something "important" done like my own miniatures ha wish I had that pink poodle in my avatar. I sold it ........dang! mininecessities
I just thought of something you could do.........I don't know if Joann's do this in all stores, but sometimes they have patterns for like 1.00 or 1.99 each. You could get Barbie patterns when they do those sales, maybe they do it instore only but you could check online. then just reduce the pattern pieces.........it might take some adjustment still, so I think I would cut each piece a little bigger the pin it on first, then trim it. Heck at 1.00 a piece it would cost more for paper to print out your own first. Patterns are limited and they don't have modern ones anymore .....I don't think. -defunct account-
Years ago I was looking for a bathrobe pattern in 1/12. Kathleen (minikat) suggested that I just use the instruction portions from a regular sized pattern as they have drawn layouts of all the pieces included. Pants, tops, and dresses have very basic pattern shapes. You can get basic sewing patterns for not a lot of money, or even free online. Here is a bathrobe pattern I made using her idea to share

Love patterns lol Wow until I read this thread, I didn't even think about just printing the page out of the pattern that shows the pieces. (ya know the diagram you use to make sure you have all your pieces) just have to reduce to fit right wowie! mininecessities
Hey I did fine the freebies on this page : http://minidollkit.c...e-miniature.asp And ya what, I just remembered, and I have one SOMEwhere.......Dawn Doll clothing patterns. I don't know if they have any current ones but there are vintage ones! Wonder what I will remember next?? haha Here is a pattern that will make 24 outfits she said for Mini Kingdom Barbie or Dawn. I think mini kingdom barbie and Dawn are a tad too tall for 1:12 though they are always in the "heels" postion. Was thinking about her the other day and wonder if I could cut 1/2 : off her legs then reglue? I have her too SOMEwhere lol http://www.ebay.com/itm/6-Dawn-Mini-Kingdom-Barbie-Pattern-makes-24-Outfits-/390322975822?pt=US_Dolls_Bears_Toys&hash=item5ae10ff44e
