Changed my ID

Missymew

Recommended Posts

Just to let you know that I've changed my id from "Shalean" to "Missymew".

I decided to give my granddaughter back her own name.

When I first "joined" a group on the internet several years ago, I was prompted to pick an id. It was something quite new to me, as I've always just gone by my name. I didn't give it much thought, and didn't even know if I would ever go back to the group - so I just typed in my granddaughter's name. Then I joined ebay, did the same thing. The next thing I know is that I'm signed in on several sites using someone else's name.

The disadvantage to using my granddaughter's name (other than it doesn't belong to me) is that it is also a christian name and can be confusing. Anyway, I don't know anyone called Missymew (except my cat). So, with Missymew's permission, I have a new id.

Cool!

I asked Chloe if I could borrow her name, and she told me no! Told me to get my own name! Uppity little bugger. I guess she forgot that I'm the one that gave her that name!

When I told Missy that I was going to borrow her name she just purred. That means "cuddle me and feed me". And I did.

Actually let's put it out to everyone on the site.

What are some good id names?

<giggling> As soon as I saw "missymew", I knew it was you. I have a terrible time remembering people names, but I never forget a cat.

Actually Doogster is one of Dougal the cat's many nick names. Doog, D-Dougal, Baby Dougal (Marg's) etc. If you met him you'd prolly be calling him by some silly name after an hour or two. I was gonna use Captain Dougal on an RC helicopter forum, but viewing the threads most of the members seemed like snotty twerps who really looked down on and belittled newbies, unless you bought a 70 scale Vario chopper (about 2 grand for the fuse alone) off the bat, then you could be their friend. You know, kinda the opposite of this place. Well I only have a 50 scale Century fuse (Airwolf) so I decided not to play, since my toys, evidently, weren't good enough to get me into the club.

I dunno. That's how I ended up with LPCullen. It was the only thing I could think of!

It's actually surprising that there are forums like that. you'd think most people would want to share their knowledge, and enjoy it. Actually that wasn't the only one, there's one for mini lathe users that's way worse. And it's SUPPOSED to be a teaching forum for newbs. Seriously, you can learn from the experts, unflortunately the experts will treat you like you're a moron.

Yep, but us women have a way to combat that ....

Well, we can all see I have no imagination. I guess I could be Fluffy Nana

ROFL!! When my cat gets on me and starts kneading, I say she is fluffing the fat for better comfort.

I have had basically the same id since I got my first computer in 1989. There are tons of Heidis out there. I dont really know why I added 5 is. Just recently I added the 5 at the end cause someone stole my id! Grrrr! So if you see a id tag looking like mine with or without the 5 it is probably me! :(

Good nicknames??? Dh related?

I think a nick should be like you. special.

Someone who likes to garden could be *MotherNature*.

a painter could be *GouacheGuru*

a jewelery maker *BeadyB* (that is actually a phrase my dh says to Nat about her `fro but it fits)

There are a few!

I have to ask if I can tell you how I came up with mine. :(

Melanie -

How did you come up with your id?

There's usually a story behind this id's.

For me a cat name just seemed natural.

I changed my id name here too a couple of weeks ago. I ALWAYS have a hard ime picking out usernames  When I decided the one on ebay I was trying to be creative and wanted it to be topp$ since my name is topps which had been taken. Well, ebay did not acept symbols back then so it turned out to be toppdollar.

I had a hard time picking out the name of my business years ago. It was Rachels toy chest but when I found I was preganant again I decided on a name that did not have any of the kids name in it but I never liked my mini shop but because I am forgetful I decided to make everything that (Though I hated it) So now that I changed my business name to minis on the edge I am converting my names to that :( .

Yeap, these usernames are tricky aren't they?

I'd thought of updating my avatar as well, but then thought that it might be a good idea to leave it as is until everyone is used to my new id. Wow, a rational thought .... sometimes I amaze myself.

I got mine from DH. He was playing with the ring tones on my phone and got to one and held up the phone and started to shake his hips and said " shakyshaky!" You have to know he never dances ( not even at our wedding). It was just too funny!

Darned if I know. I ended up as Calamari because I had to pick an idea to post something on a CourtTV messageboard, and I didn't want to be readily identifiable as me. So I started using it on dollhouse mini boards, too. Now any fool can figure out who I am, which I guess wrecks that strategy.

I have a cat just like yours, Suzanne, at least in the face. Xanthippe would never let me borrow her name, though.
