ouchouch
.... on Ebay which I'm thinking is bashed... http://cgi.ebay.com/Doll-House-Modern-Styl...1QQcmdZViewItem And here's the kit http://www.tomsmill.com/Merrimack.htm Am I crazy but even if this house is unique and rare, I still think it costs a lot. The doll house shoppein that I go to could probably get these kits, anyhow. It's listed as a retailer for tomsmills kits.
RobinS
ouch! That's a lot of money.
Hallowell
I agree, ouch on that price.
havanaholly
The kit plus finishing materials is only around $400, so the asking price seems a tad steep, maybe besides electric it has hot & cold running water?

Bonsaikathy
I believe that's one of the kits by Tom of Earth and tree. I'm sure the quality is excellent but yup the price is way high. Kat

Bonsaikathy
I agree, I'd do one of my own design too. I've seen a couple I really liked. I tried finding the pictures again but haven't had luck. I don't recall how I found them when I searched the first time. They were much more modern than most dollhouses you find and reminded me more of a Frank Lloyd Wright design. He's one of my favorites. TinyJudi
It is a nice looking house, but a lot of money. Not to say it isn't worth it, but still a lot of money. I was noticing the house in the background. The one under construction. It looks like a BH, but not really. Ok...asking the experts here...what house is it? Wee Obsession
I guess they REALLY want to hang on to it!
CJEP
I could understand the price if you couldn't get the kit anymore. But since you can order on the Earth and Tree website, I think the price is a bit high.

ouchouch
Toms Earth and Tree? Are you talking about tomsmill.com?
Annette
Definitely a big ouch, but a nice house. It reminds me a little of the contemporary ranch that HBS sells probably because of the angled roof.

ouchouch
so I just called my local dollhouse shoppe and asked how much the merrimack kit goes for.... It's 400 bucks. No shipping of course. It comes in two boxes. That's not bad, me thinks. OH MY. I think someone has to talk me out of buying the kit. havanaholly
Don't buy the kit, Mary, you'll just want to build it and then furnish it with all sorts of wonderful modern furniture and decorate it.
ouchouch
Oh thanks Holly. You really talked me out of it. :thumb:
