jrchob
The bones of the house are done! Put a few pictures in my gallery. With each project one learns new things. This house taught me 1. persistence in reading and understanding directions and then doing what made sense to me and 2. just how big my hands were!!! Now to decorate to make it interesting. chapchap73
1/2 scale makes my hands gigantic! This is a gorgeous house; you did a great job
havanaholly
It's not so much how big 1:24 makes my hands as how BIG 1:12 seems in comparison!
chapchap73
You are so right Holly! My Spring Fling seems enormous!!
-defunct account-
After the Beacon hill my spring fling seems puny, however when I looked at the pieces for my 1/2 scale project I started to get a little nervous about how small that seems! Janet you did a beautiful job of the townhouse, can't wait to see you decorate

amyole
Your house looks beautiful. Would you do another 1/2 scale (I have noticed that many people make the switch and don't want to go back)/do you have a preference?
jrchob
Your house looks beautiful. Would you do another 1/2 scale (I have noticed that many people make the switch and don't want to go back)/do you have a preference? Thanks Amy. I actually have two kits, the 1/2 scale Houseworks Victorian and the 1/2 scale Country Farmhouse. I also have a 1:12 Cheryl's Place. I am running out of room so will probably concentrate on the 1/2 scale. My preference is the 1:12. I love the things that are out there for the 1:12. Are you working on a 1/2 scale or thinking about it?
amyole
At this time, I am going to keep working on 1:12. I have too much still to learn and think that the 1/2 scale would be too big a leap for my skill level. But, I have to say, the tinier the things become, the more fascinating the are. When I go to the dh shop, I just am in awe at the displays.
havanaholly
One of the nifty things about moving to 1:24 is that you can fake it. After making all my kitchen cupboards for the Fairfields with working drawers, when it came to the diningroom I was just too bummed with RL "stuff" and put fake drawer fronts on the buffet.
