cjme63
To make the floor in the main living area, I wanted a kind of tiled "stone" look and thought that vinyl tile might work. I bought a few 12" x 12" tiles at Home Depot and cut them into 1" squares - much easier than I thought! You just score the top with a metal ruler and box cutter (be careful, though). I used the templates left over from the wood floor punch-out sheets to make a subfloor using - you guessed it - vinyl tiles. Easier to cut than anything else that solid. Then peel and stick the squares in a pattern. I ran out of the lighter color, but had lots of the darker so did a border around it, which I quite like after all. Here's the start of it...more pix in my gallery.

havanaholly
Gorgeous! I love the Greenleaf Vinyl flooring because the cutting has already been done and the lines are STRAIGHT! (Some of us have problems with straight, even with a steel ruler!)
