I have so much to do and so lil of me to do it. I have a dh that needs my attention, gardening to plan and do, spring housework, and then all the added things that are my mom jobs.

I am a pro in the parenting game but sometimes i get brain fog and forget how to get started.

Does anybody else want to add their list of stuff that has to be done and no time (or inclination) to do it?

1. dollhouse

2. take curtains down and wash

3. Paint chelsea`s bedroom

4. call mason to do walkway next week

5. finish planting summer bulbs

6. Dust!

7. Taxes!

8.Put pics and stuff on discs (that should be #1)

9. call eye dr, foot dr, dermatologist for family appts.

10. Sort, clean and replace canning supplies for jam, applesauce, and relish.

11. Clean fridge ! (absolutely HATE!)

12. Arrange to have 1990 Mazda towed away. (only has 80k miles but it is 16yrs old, tranny has pooed the bed, flat tire, needs battery, heating and ac died, and something...ummm not shocks or struts.. the things that keep the wheels from caving in, both back windows need new motors) It is old, served us well, time to go. Might have mechanic friend buy for song if wants it.

13. Dog`s vet check and heart worm meds

I can go on and on but you all get the picture.

Come on give us your list of pain!

Okay, well, I'll go, in desperate need of venting. Still in crutches, so I'm so far behind it's scary

need to pinestraw mulch

plant flowers around birdbath

powerspray porch

find patio furniture

scrub tile kitchen floor (dogfood sticks in grout)

scrub dogdrool from hardwood floors

send wedding pics to relatives (wedding was last may!)

take DD summer clothes shopping (and something for me, too!)

Go shoe shopping (I'll need sturdy sandals when this is over. Flip flops will be a no no)

prepare house for dad and dads girlfriend (they'll be here may 10th)

work on dollhouse (would love to show it to dad while he's here)

and, oh yeah, I have exams in 3 weeks!

I would be making great progress (your standard type A multitasker) but with a fracture boot and crutches, if the laundry and dishes are only a few days behing, I'm doing great! Ither than work on the COventry, if I had one wish, I'd love to take my dog for a walk..

Thanks for the oportunity to whine! I;m just feeling really cooped up. Swimming 2x a week isn;t nearly enough excersize for me! But hey, I'm making progress on the house...:)

Ugh. Heidiii, making to-do lists that I to-don't has defined my entire spring. Here goes:

1. Paint the one bad shelf in the china cabinet. The paint had bubbled due (I think) to humidity. I peeled it off. A year ago. There hasn't been a dry day with space to empty that shelf and paint since then.

2. Spray prime the dollhouse furniture that's sitting on the kitchen floor. See rain, above.

3. Do something about the grout in the shower. Note that I'm not saying "clean it." That would be too specific.

4. Thoroughly clean kitchen and bathroom floors. This requires hands-and-knees work, which my back doesn't allow me to do.

5. Buy the second cat a permanent litter box.

6. Update my Web site that tracks the ownership of various fast food chains.

7. Do something about the plant on the porch that may be dead. See rain, above. See definition of "do something," also above.

8. Clean refrigerator. See perils of bending over, above.

9. Deal with books that need to go to used-book store. There's one bag in the trunk of the car already. I can't lift more, even though I'd like to get rid of some. Preferred used-book store doesn't buy on weekends when DH is home. Second-choice store with better hours is way out in the 'burbs. Bleh.

10. Clean out dining room china cabinet and rearrange it properly. This is the task most likely to get done this week.

11. Finish Miles & Theo's new house. This is another task with high likelihood of success, if I don't run out of Desert Sand paint.

12. Reorganize the craft closet.

13. Fix my maroon sweater, which needs a seam put back in.

14. Get the dining room shelves hung. Home Depot did not include screws, the jerks.

That's enough -- now I don't want to get out of bed.

Wende, I like #6 on your list, I think some of us would be "very" surprised (NOT) to learn who's pushing us into a national health crisis of obesity pushing their fastfood.

My priorities:

finish the Coventry build

clean up the workroom so I can

build the McKinley

make dolls for pub

repair Familia Claudia dolls & return roombox to DS

clean up the workroom for the next kit build

vacuum floors.

"Work" is a 4-letter word.

2. Finish plan for mini farmhouse garden.

7. Make arrangements for parents' 60th Wedding Anniversary.

8. Coordinate plans with brothers/sister for dad's 80th birthday party.

9. Shop for granddaughter's (Shalean) 8th birthday. (FAVOURITE item on my list)

10. Make annual dental appointments.

11. Grocery shopping (LEAST favourite item on list)

12. Start Missymew on her diet and exercise plan( :) LEAST LIKELY TO SUCCEED item on list)

13. Practice different methods of thatching for my mini farmhouse roof.

14. Paint and decorate Easter boxes for my granddaughters.

15. Spring clean China cabinet.

That's my kind of thinking! LOL

I'm not even organized enough to make a to-do list. So here it is:

Lots of stuff to do inside/outside real house/dollhouse.

That should just about cover it. :)

I have tons on my to-do list for this weekend. I did most of it this morning, like organizing and arranging my books, catalogs, address books & calendars, and mini magazines. :) If this doesn't sound like much, you haven't seen my reference library! :o

One I would like to get done is go out to the garage studio and go through those books. Some are books, some are magazines, that I would love to toss and decide what to keep. That too, is a job for another day...

Did someone say 'clean' :p that's a good one to put on my list of stuff to do...Clean the dollhouses! :o

I try to multi-task too--do the laundry and dishes while I'm working on the computer. Thank goodness for dishwashers, washing machines and dryers!

One of the peskiest things I have to clean and dust about the house is the china and silver. I used to be real good about scheduling a time every so often to polish it, at least once a month. :( It's sometimes more than I can keep up with.

I know this is going to sound strange, but why would you update your website to track ownership of fast food chains? Sorry to ask, but I guess I'm missing the reason. ;)

It's useful in teaching management, as it demonstrates the power of branding, the way industries change, and the accumulation of the market in the hands of multinational companies, some of which brand their concepts as if they were mom-and-pop outlets. It's also useful if you want to boycott a corporate owner who has offended your principles. Did you know that:

  • Chipotle is owned by McDonald's, which also owns Boston Market.
  • Wendy's, Jack-in-the-Box, and Carl's Jr. also operate fast-casual Mexican concepts (Baja Fresh, Qdoba, and La Salsa -- Carl's Jr. also operates quick-serve Green Burrito).
  • Starbucks owns other coffeehouse brands, notably Seattle's Best and Torrefazione Italia.
  • Now that Mexican fast-casual is established as a trend, the next likely trend is Vietnamese fast food.
  • Pepsi hasn't owned Pizza Hut, Taco Bell, and KFC in years and years. As Yum! Brands, these concepts are also affiliated with A&W and Long John Silver's. Yum! was the first to cobrand their different concepts in the same hut, though Allied Domeq (Baskin-Robbins, Togo's, and Dunkin' Donuts) also commonly cobrands.
  • Einstein Brothers Bagels, Noah's Bagels, Manhattan Bagels, and Chesapeake Bagel Bakery all have the same corporate parent.
  • Some franchisees are larger than the parent companies of the brands they franchise. Far from being family operations, franchises are often held a corporation that owns 300 or more restaurants in several different concepts.
  • On very rare occasions, franchisees will band together revive a failed brand. This seems to be a roast-beef related phenomenon, as it's limited to Roy Rogers (which has made a substantial comeback) and Rax.

Ironically, I don't eat fast food if I can possibly avoid it. But this may be why.

I havent eaten fast food since watching Super Size me. I read Fast Food nation and you think that would have done it. I guess I had to see it with my own two eyes.

After that loogy spitting in dunkin donuts coffee thing in I think Maine, I am leary about going there too. I mean different workers but still in your head!

Edit: I like that website. My dh is all hot and bothered because a Fuddruckers is coming to Foxwoods casino soon. I emailed him their website so he could see what they serve.

I also just printed a coupon for popeye`s chicken. I have a dr appt in New Haven next week and I know dh is going to want to eat it.

See he saw the same dvd I did but it didnt phase him!

Oh.... when we lived in Connecticut years ago, we ate a lot of Popeye's. Also the Dutchess burger out in Hamden. I still have a weakness for those.

We're spoiled by being surrounded by lots of cheap ethnic hole-in-the-wall restaurants that are genuine small businesses with at least marginally healthier food than Burger King. That's one of the reasons we tolerate the many downsides of inner-city life, as I never really manage to go through with commitments to cook regularly.

I prefer Thai, but that's OK. Seriously we rarely eat out, much less "fast food", but for a rare treat Chipotle's/ Moe's for a burrito is nice. I'm fascinated to know who owns what because of the health ramifications (or lack thereof).

I don't really have a lot on my list, but I also can't really get started on it till mid-April possibly May. MOst of my stuff to do is outside stuff and it is too wet.

1. Rototill yard, level, lay down chicken wire, top soil and sod. The vet said chicken wire will prevent the dog from digging. Rudy didn't dig until I accidently killed the lawn with weed killer last August. I am hoping he will forget about digging once the grass is back.

2. Build decks for the front and back of the house.

3. Put up fence in the back.

4. Fix skirting.

5. Steam clean carpets in the house and car.

6. Strip and wax kitchen floor. Its the old kind of linoleum that requires wax. But it seems kind of redundant to do it when there is tons of dirt getting tracked in to the house.

7. File state taxes.

I think that is about it.

Thank goodness the taxes are behind us! :)

Well, tomorrow I start to clean off those shelves. Books, and more books and magazines. Back the car up to the garage for a major donation day--I've promised one of my close friends she gets the historical romance novels~ :p

Thanks for the link. I generally don't eat very much fast food--I usually eat lunch at home, and like you, we're spoiled by all of the little local Italian resturants and little diners about the country where we live. I confess to a weakness for Wendy's & Taco Bell, but rarely. That's interesting from a financial standpoint how much the fast food resturant industry has grown--I'd be curious to check out their stock quotes.

I've begun work on painting windows and doors on that house of Chris'--I've got three doors down, started on one window--and I have about and nine more windows to go! :o
