Anya
Do real life Beacon hill style houses have wooden floorboards on the porch or stone flags?
Anne
I would say wood but I'm not sure. I think most structural elements of American Victorian houses are made of wood.
havanaholly
The "painted ladies" I've seen in San Francisco that still have their wooden porches have painted floors (I'm sure many times replaced, THAT's a humid climate!), but a lot seem to have been replaced with concrete. Wende? Emily?

Wende? Emily? What colours are the floors painted? Are they in one colour or patterns etc? Do you think concrete would look out of place on a balcony floor or are they wood too? Have you chosen your colours for the exterior yet? I put a pic of the porch on my dollhouse to look at, does not look great in the pic but it did come out nice in the end when it was painted. http://community.webshots.com/photo/534773...065897886prCmMa http://community.webshots.com/photo/534773...065897886RaLrkV Heres a pic of one of my favourate beacons on webshots http://community.webshots.com/photo/187638...042242004lWkJND Jenn
MiniMadWoman
I believe most Victorian style houses have wood on porches and balconies. Just my opinion, but yes, I think concrete would look out of place. You might get away with something like a flagstone or tile though. Anya
Oh yes, I love Fraggle rock. I think I will go with wooden floors too. Jenn. The exterior colours are going to be blue, brown and off white. I already have some pics up of the house in my gallery. For the roof garden I have no idea what to use for the floors. I do like the idea of flagstone though. I suppose I'll have to experiment.
