A brighter shot of the rough-in without the floor installed.

Does anyone else's workspace have a clock that doesn't work (this was 8pm not 1pm), pictures of babies who are now 3 and 9, their first iPhone box sitting on a larger-than-playscale chair, and a wind chime made out of old spoons and glass beads? The stuff I collect here... sheesh.

While I've never been drawn to any era older than lets say the 40s, there have always been some period pieces of furniture that I covet, just like an antique would be loved in my own home. Keep in mind, I always appreciated looking at others' work, especially the Victorian era -- all those baubles & fluff, like Christmas without the red & green!

It'll be interesting to see how I do finding modern furnishings that don't scream I'M-A-CALIFORNIA-SEASIDE-HOME or I-BUY-EVERYTHING-AT-IKEA. I may actually find myself leaning towards Brady Bunch...

LOVE this house! It reminds me of my Highland. :) I will be anxious to see your progress.

And BTW- I actually have that exact clock in my workroom---and it doesn't work either! LOL

Jackie, actually, I didn't include any photos of your Highland as my inspiration but I most definately have a photo of the stair/kitchen wall with all those craft sticks installed at an angle. I thought it was such a clever idea and wondered if I shouldn't find a way to do one as well, maybe in the bathroom for a sauna-like feel. I hesitate to use anyone's ACTUAL idea because it feels like stealing - even if I do give credit.

I just looked thru your photos again and saw you also mentioned Brady Bunch!
