Chantilly

Just One More

I found it's easier adding on to a house than leaving something off. You have to fill in all the holes where things were supposed to go. I used strip wood mostly because spackle and wood filler shows when painted, when you don't use siding. I stained the windows because the black lasered edges don't really paint nicely. They come out kind of lumpy looking. I like stain better anyway.

I'm amazed at your speed too....do you sleep?

I love the colours and the stain is perfect :D

The laser cuts go together faster because there is little if any sanding. The painting and all takes time but being retired now, I have lots of time to work on them. I do like the stained windows and trim. They are ready to stain with the blackened edges so that's much faster too. I tried painting the trim with the Tennyson. The blackened edges don't paint well so don't look as nice as staining and leaving the edges black. I'm glad you all like my house as much as I do. The inside will be fun to do too. :)

I'm so glad I looked at your gallery. I'm working on the Chantilly now. I'm using stonework on the exterior walls, and that hides all the nasty little cracks and crevices that always show up on a house once it's built.

I'm going to use your tip about the roof walls dipping into the upper rooms, and plaster them.

Great job!
