Powder room (2)

otterine

One of the best features of the Newport is its tower, but that makes for an awkward space on the inside. I thought the nook created by the tower walls had potential as a powder room. The wallpaper is glued in place, but the trims are temporary at the moment. I still need to cut the baseboards and touch up the trim pieces before gluing them in permanently. I made the art pieces, the flowers on the sill, the towel and the tissue box. Since the powder room window is right off the front porch, adding some privacy was necessary. To mimic the look of etched glass, I used Vellum Swirls paper by Hot off the Press to line the lower half of the window. The autumn scene in the background is a clipart image printed on 11" x 17" paper. More details on my blog, as always. :D

That is an absolutely fabulous powder room, I love the coordination in colors and in all the details. VERY nice to have that glimpse of fall foliage through the upper part of the window. As always, I'm awed....:)

I agree! Absolutely fabulous addition! Love the frosted glass effect, and the flowers on the sill, and the bright colors. This house is going to be amazing. I'm still awed by your stove and hood light and spice rack. I've been hunting all over for the rigid plastic tube. No one seems to know what I'm talking about. :(
