My glencroft again...

I finished the slate floor in the kitchen (photos forthcoming).

But here is my question - would you put in floor skirting/trim?

Or, since it's a kitchen, would you leave the walls without trim?

I'm not sure what the rules are about a stone floor and skirting.

Help!

PS: I adore the coziness of the glencroft!

Hi,

If you've got a slate floor, then some slate and tile trim in place of a baseboard could look very nice.

there is slate countertop in my kitchen, surrounding a flat-top stove. the trim there is parallel to the floor, except for a small area around a support beam. we used some tiny medium-sea-green tiles imbedded in the counter along with the slate. the slate is a coolish color and the tile is a little warmer in hue.

a bathroom counter is similar, done with traditional ceramic tile and the little green tiles. it took forever to choose colors and install the trim, but i think both areas look great.
