soprok
So mad the good deal i got on the dura craft isn't such a good deal after all. The corner posts and real trim are missing. i checked there web site, but it is down and will be up who knows when. i read they were closing and then i saw where they are owned differently or something like that. some people will have to pay 10.00 for missing parts and some will get them free. What ya bet if i an ever get them I have to pay. just my luck. any ideas where or what i can do about missing corner parts? soprok
mamie
Sorry about your missing parts. I built my first house ,which was the Newberg, made by Dura Craft and they always sent me missing pieces even if it was a piece I messed up on. That was some time ago so maybe they changed. luvmypoodle
Duracraft is out of business. Where did you get it from? Off Ebay with estates in miniature maybe? What house is it.
soprok
I read that they will be up and running again. but who knows. I got it from a thrift store. unopened. I was talking to a friend and she said she might have something that will work for me. hubby had gotten some stuff at a auction once and there was parts of a house in it. And she thinks its Dura Craft. so i might be in luck. soprok
mamie
I am sorry they went out of buisness as I was planning on doing their farm house some day. I hope something is found. If you can put something together you know make something your house will probaly turn out good--maybe even better. Good luck
Tams
soprok Which house is it? I have left-overs from a few Dura Craft houses and may be able to help you out if your friend doesn't have what you need.
havanaholly
Dura-Craft is defunct & so far as I know, permanently. I expect once the people that bought all their old stock sell it all, that'll be it. The instructions do show enough of each piece that it can be reproduced with a tilting arbor table saw & a router, but what a nuisance! doogster
The corner pieces could be reprod as Holly says, and the trim could be quite easily replaced with aftermarket stuff, like Houseworks. If you got it from a thrift store I'd still bet it'll work out as a good deal.
Minis On The Edge
Dura-Craft is out of business and DollProperties.com is the place to "buy" extra or missing parts. There are people who say they have had problems though and I thought you should know that before you decide. Just checked and there website is down now :groucho:

IrishMist
For future reference - HBS and Dejoux both sell the corner trim posts as stock lumber trim. My Michaels also carries them. I use them on all my houses to hide hard wires running from floor to floor. Carol
