Minis On The Edge
I watched this auction (Was interested in it till it got so high). These are very small and the price went over $100 I am wondering if anyone know (Calamri maybe you will know). Is this one rare or something? CatColorado
My sister gets really caught up in auctions and usually bids too much. Maybe the bidders just got caught up in the heat of the moment.
Minis On The Edge
Okay so you all don't think it is a rare one either  . I was just wondering cause I almost have 2 complete sets of this one (one set for each daughter). Sarah needs the kitchen set and I think that will be all. I fell in love with them a couple of years ago because they arenot too deep and it still is a whole house.
Nameless1
I'm baffled by the end price. It's not a kit that shows up on eBay every week, but it's not something I've come across being drooled on as rare and desirable, either. The losing bidder has been pursuing obscure old stuff -- s/he won a much more interesting kit for an Artply house I didn't know about -- and I think the winner went into a My House Mine MINE frenzy. Deb
It would be interesting to do a sociological study of auctions. I've seen stuff go for three times it's original price.........and you can still get it new at walmart! It's just a really odd human behavior. havanaholly
When we were on our road trip last year one of our stops was a riverboat casino in Vicksburg, MS, because they advertised live jazz in one of their dining areas, only when we showed up the music was delayed until a "private party" got done using the area in question, so we took a walk around the ship, which was all gambling machines of various kinds with matronly & grand-matronly ladies waddling around in skimpy spandex & 3+" stilettos delivering drinks and rolls of quarters to row after row of the most zoned-out looking bunch of breating zombies this side of Wes Craven! and the noise was terrible, we finally decided we wouldn't be able to hear the music any longer if we stayed, so we left. I expect the auction frenzy may affect people the same way?
doogster
My guess, as mentioned you don't see them every week, and as stated in the description 'never been opened'. 102 is chicken feed money, i'm betting someone's thinking of a future sale, especially since the buyer looks to be a store. Intrinsicat
I really think there is something to that heat of the moment thing. When you really want something and you're watching the seconds tick by refreshing the screen every 8 seconds... you're adrenaline starts up. I LOVE Playmobil - and knowing a lot about the stuff I know what is rare when I run across it. I managed to find three sets of a rare railcar at a hobby shop marked WAY down. I put one up on eBay and it sold for about twice what I paid - and put the second one up on the heels of the first - that one skyrockets to five times what I paid. I kept the third one.

heidiiiii
When it comes to auctions, I have a ceiling price. Then i go turn off the computer and dont come back on until it is over. That way I wont spend what I dont intend.

havanaholly
We're on a fixed income, and I wish the state & fed govt would stop "fixing" it & leave it alone!
