glen
Following instructions from her who must be obeyed I've extended the balcony. Now I need one of those column things. Anyone know their proper name and where I can either find one or an example of a fairly modern one? Look at this first picture. Just after we had a fight about the new deck NOT being a convenient glass holder for her juice!!!!!!!!! Cheers Glen
Charlene
Hi Glen -- Listen, juice holders are where you find them!!! I think you're looking for a veranda post...
LPCullen
You should be able to get one at your local hobby shop. Or you could use a wooden dowel.
Shakyshaky
You could try the cake decotating section. If your grocery store makes wedding cakes they may have some too.
havanaholly
If you have a lathe you could turn a wooden dowel into quite a lovely post, or you coud get really fancy and go with wooden top & base and heavy wires in the four corners and wind greenery around it. If she MUST use the balcony for a juice holder, perhaps you or mum could finagle her a coaster that looks like a rug?
Minis On The Edge
A wooden dowel should be easy to find and can be cut to size. You can find them at craft stores and even hardware stores.
glen
wooden top & base and heavy wires in the four corners and wind greenery around it. That sounds pretty cool I was thinking of garden/barbeque under there anyway. Glen

parisbabe
Glen, I got some colums from the wedding cake dept in a craft store we have here called micheals but I am sure you should be able to find them in a bakery somewhere. Wen
molmrath
I don't know if you'd want to make an overseas order, but HBS carries some nice porch posts (item #7010).
