pdlnpeabody 768 Posted December 3, 2012 Thanks! I'll try to get a close up shot of the "marble" banister caps today. Quote Link to comment
Momof2Moos 339 Posted December 3, 2012 WoW! That looks so great! I love the curls in the wire. 1 Quote Link to comment
Debora59 2,608 Posted December 3, 2012 Spectular! And I love your paneling work detail, How did you join the wires in the railing together? That was the hardest part for me, glue was lots of trouble and soldering was noticable at the joints. 1 Quote Link to comment
pdlnpeabody 768 Posted December 4, 2012 Thanks everyone! Deb, Solder and epoxy didn't seem to work, so I used super glue. It seems to be holding. The join points and tips are painted gold. Quote Link to comment
Ravenswing 274 Posted December 5, 2012 Wow. I see why the wire gave you so many problems. It's so thin and delicate. And the paneling is outrageous! You obviously have a very clear image in your head of what you want this house to look like. Fantastic! Quote Link to comment
pdlnpeabody 768 Posted December 6, 2012 Actually, for such thin wire, it is incredibly rigid and very difficult to bend. I tried a slightly thicker wire at first, but I couldn't get it to bend at all! Although the foyer and landing is coming along as I had envisioned it, its very closed in. Now that I see it taking form, I know I would like the style, but not the layout. An open floor plan would have been better, but way too late to change it now. Quote Link to comment
