Color Scheme - HELP!

raspberry

Right now the house is a bare yellow, with a dark ivory and white on the windows, and then the door is barn red with white trim... I'm not sure I love it together...I am leaning toward a dark green and white blend...but I also like the "sunny" feeling the yellow gives...

I feel like it's very BLAH-BLAND-BLAH...any suggestions on popping it a bit?

The only thing that's not singing to me is the dark ivory. I think the rest looks great and would consider doing the windows all white (rather than ivory plus white). Also like the idea of red shutters.

Also consider what landscaping might add to this. If you're planning to put flowerbeds or hedges, etc. around the house, that will add additional color.

Yeah, I think I'm going to do just white...keep the door part red, but the rest white... :)

TKS for your input!!! :) I will probably do windo boxes, white with red flowers...

Also remember you can do an accent color on your porch that doesn't necessarily have to appear anywhere else - maybe light gray or a greenish gray? Or use the dark ivory on the porch? I also like the sage idea (which is I guess sort of the same as "greenish gray"...)

Love love LOVE the sunny feel of yellow and red together (very classy farmhouse look) but I agree with everyone on the dark ivory (looks like of sand colored on my monitor). Maybe use shutters as an accent to an all white window? Or go with all white and an accent color on some other trim like gutters or running boards? It looks like you have a very pale yellow and black would look really nice as an accent color too.

Oh, another option I just remembered...go to the sherwin williams website, www.sherwin-williams.com, and use their color visualizer to look at how the colors might work together. For us 1/2 scalers, they even have a real Fairfield in their "Victorian" section to try out colors on! :-D
