  1. Will do! And Merry Christmas to you!
  2. “She thought to herself, "This is now." She was glad that the cozy house, and Pa and Ma and the firelight and the music, were now. They could not be forgotten, she thought, because now is now. It can never be a long time ago.” ― Laura Ingalls Wilder, Little House in the Big Woods I read a lot as a kid, and the Laura Ingalls Wilder books illustrated by Garth Williams were one of my favorite series. Her childhood memories became part of mine, and well, part of my passion for dollhouses is trying to recapture my childhood. Feeling like I needed yet another project (ok, not really, but
  3. There's a cool house on CL in Colorado Springs for $50 - I'm tempted to get it myself, but I am a little overwhelmed with projects already. Kind of reminds me of the house in the new season of American Horror Story... https://cosprings.craigslist.org/art/5760993748.html
  4. Maybe someone has brought this up before...but I'm pretty sure your Heritage was the inspiration for the house in the movie "Insidious Chapter 2" - not only is the wallpaper the same in the hall, but the front door is very similar, the living room is almost the same shade of green, and I believe the kitchen is similar, too. Maybe its all coincidence...but goodness it is weird watching that movie after following your build on here and being familiar with the project.

    Houseworks Half-scale

This is my first foray into half-scale. I love this house and want it to be pretty and light to match the tootsie toy furnishings I plan on using.

    The Salem

This is a dollhouse kit by Earth and Tree that hangs on the wall called the Salem. After starting it 3 years ago, thought I might go ahead and finish it and get to the fun part - furnishing and decorating it!
  7. This is an amazing project! It is so different and beautiful - love it!
  8. I have all the parts - except for the two curving staircases (I have the banisters, just not the stairs themselves - bummer) but I also got an electrical kit (the copper tape, lead, transformer, and tools), a siding kit which I will use on another project, and a full Bespaq bedroom - all for the low, low price of $80!
  9. Just....wow. really beautiful!

    Foxhall Manor

I bought this off Craigslist for a steal...let's see what I'm going to do with it!
  11. I finally got it upstairs in my apartment last night and just sat on the couch staring at it, lol. So many ideas :)
  12. Yeah, that "deviation" is what I was worried about. I appreciate the input. May look into purchasing some Bromley stencils...
  13. Got a super deal on a Foxhall Manor on Craigslist and the lady said she would include a bedroom set she was saving for the house - it was all wrapped up in white boxes and I had no idea what she had given me until I got home. Later that night I unwrapped a beautiful $400 Bespaq bedroom set! It was like Christmas and my birthday all in one! I wish I could afford enough Bespaq furniture to fill up even a small house to match, but I'm probably going to sell this and recoup my money. Pretty awesome deal, though! Can't wait to get the house itself into my upstairs apartment - the shell is alre
  14. I love the woodwork and details of this house, it's very rich looking. Just gorgeous!
  15. Nope, it just sits open like it is. A hinged set of walls would be really cool, though. Like a cabinet house. Would help keep the cat from trying to jump in it, too. Hmmm, now you have me thinking, Mike!
