Golden Gate View - kit photo

otterine

Even though I recently acquired a Glencroft kit to follow the Heritage build, I recently stumbled across an old (albeit new in the box) kit no longer made: Golden Gate View by American Craft Products. I could not pass it up for its unusual design, its relatively compact size and the price. biggrin.gif I'm thinking a Brownstone with a two-story efficiency apartment, though I am not sure if it will be contemporary or vintage or some mix of the two.

I rember When I lived in NY City and the brownstones there we lived in the basement apartment and the owners lived upstairs at street level. They had a living room dinning and small kitchen on the frist floor bed rooms on the second and another appartment on the thrid The wood work on the frist floor was dark and highly ingraved the walls were silk with lots of gold and deep red. What I remember most was how small the kitchen was with lots of high cabnits taller then you coud reach with out a latterupstairs was plan except stair well.

The kit itself has two main rooms, though I suppose I could add a basement room, but there's no way to manage three apartments in it. :D But, I do plan to add a little room to the side of the building to make it easier to fit the inside details I want.
