parlor finished.JPG

Alexander

Lady's Violette parlor finally completed! I wanted to give an air of British restraint elegance in this drawing room. I've put in the wall an authentic Regency pattern of wallpaper and plaster. The pediment above the door(I have used the same for the dinning room downstairs)is really exquisite. The colors are the sky blue, ivory and warm chestnut of the furniture. For the furnishing I've used Chiipendale, Georgian and Regency pieces because I would like to show a late 18th c and early 19th athmosphere for the most luxurious room of my house. The music stand, the harp and the spinet can also transform it into a fine music room. The footman on blue and yellow livery and white wig adds an aristocratic air to the setting I believe.

I love this room and want to move in! The detailing is wonderful and I have a special love of harpsichords.

My Harpsichord

This is the harpsichord my father built for me (human scale). Just had to share.

Very lovely! You always have the best details. Love the wallpaper and trim and the pediment over the door, and the furniture is wonderful. Great job! :)

Alexander, you have many nice pieces and features, but its a little busy in here, so the great pieces will be overlooked.

I am afraid yes...I couldn't resist on buying them. But this is quite intentional due to the fact that I want to give this sense of continuation throught time. Each generation of this house put something to the manor so the effect is rather busy but also noble(from 18th to early 20thc.)
