Loom by Warren Dick 1983

Caseymini

This is one of the series of working looms that Warren made in the early 80s. I purchased it at the Tucson Miniature Society show and sale today. Tessie learned to weave a long time ago and is now back at it.

From the album:

That is sooo cool! There is a Stephen King book, "The Eyes of the Dragon" that has a dollhouse in it that has a working loom that the main character uses to weave a rope from napkin threads to help him escape from a tower. Ever since I read that book years ago I thought a dollhouse sized working loom would be cool to have, but I didn't realize they actually exist!

I think this is one of the most amazing pieces of miniature art I've seen. The loom in and of itself is fantastic on a technical level, but I really think the doll makes the loom complete. There is a such character in this doll.

This an all round fabulous picture. Its a real scene and looks almost as if it could be animated any second. What a great find that loom is and the doll is perfect.

Very folklore!!! Nice job! In Greek we call this device ΑΡΓΑΛΕΙΟΣ (argalios)and in province especially every house used to have one of this.
