Toilet

Jo Med

Not exactly 5 star but I've seen worse on my travels.

The toilet, stool and washbasin are made from a Chrysenbon kit but grimed up using the same oak stain I used on the woodwork in my Garfield. The walls are covered in plastic tile paper which is very difficult to stick to walls, it comes off easily if you catch it. I put some old wood strips - genuine old oak strips this time around the whole of the back of the building to make it look substantial. Had to hunt around for strips of old wood that were actually thin enough to use but this was perfect. It protects the toilet wall tiles from getting snagged and peeling off plus it is in keeping with the rest of the building.

The doors in this kit are plain on the inside so I scored them to match the outsides and used standard siding strips to make cross beams and frames. I painted the toilet door with white household emulsion and then dirtied it up with a grey wash - painted on then dabbed off with a damp cloth. This gave the aged look I wanted.

To dirty up the plastic tiles I had to use black enamel paint kind of polished into the grout lines with a cloth - so painted on and wiped off again fairly quickly. I did the same but a little heavier around the edges where the worst grime would gather.

Iewl, this so so horrible... Imagine being in great need for a bathroom and find this.... And yes. It could be worse. It could be one of those that only have a hole in the ground and then you pee in your shoes instead of into this hole...

Awesome Jo, awesome

Just the right "e-e-ew" factor for the roadside potties.

Your whole piece is fantastic. You are a gifted artisan.
