Hobby Room over the Kitchen

HBMini

2nd floor hobby room over the kitchen

I have fixed the wall, floor and ceiling where I added 3 inches. The dumbwaiter front panel is done. The door in the panel slides up and down to allow access to the working dumbwaiter. I have added the crown moulding around the ceiling. I took the window parts that came with the kit for the kitchen bay and used the pieces in this side wall. This room is going to be the hobby room, because all houses should have a hobby room for building dollhouses.

I have been trying different colored ceilings to show off the crown moulding. This is a light ivory color but I was thinking pale blue.

I used 2 pieces of flat 1/2 inch by 1/16 inch wood up against the ceiling. They are offset by a small amount. Then there is the regular dollhouse crown moulding. It looks a lot more complicated than it is.

your house is such an inspiration to me! I'm still thinking 'inside the box' about my BH plans. It's really bothered me that the rooms are so small, there are windows lacking where I think they should be, and that the front door is not centered. There's a little something about the design of that second floor stairway window that bothers me too, but I haven't decided an alternative.

I love the hidden staircase to the tower!

Anyway, thanks so much for posting the photos of your lovely Beacon!
