Call Me Crazy 284 Posted April 5, 2021 I went with a metal roof look for the tower rather than shingles. It ties in with the bay window roofs now. The finial isn't finished - it needs a base to attach it to the roof; however, I might scrap it and make a fancier one. Not sure yet.... 2 Quote Link to comment
Muriel 267 Posted April 5, 2021 Oh I do love that! Have you written anywhere how you did it, or can you tell me here? Very nice. 1 Quote Link to comment

It's all done with cardstock/poster board. I bought a large sheet of black poster board that I'm using for all sorts of things. I traces the triangular shapes onto the cardstock using the wood piece from the kit the roof sections were punched from. Glued one side at a time, trimming the edges once dry. I then cut four 1/4" wide strips for the corners and thinner strips for the vertical seams. Once all the strips were glued on, I painted with a mix of silver and black paint. Finished off the base edges with thin basswood strips I painted white. 3 Quote Link to comment
