4th fire

Shes ready for the 4th fire at this point. This is where it gets fun for me because I love makeup (I was once a cosmetologist/make up artist) and this is a lot like putting on makeup. In this fire the eyebrows get a second defining layer, again blush and lip, the eye liner is applied lightly and definition on the eyelid crease. A colored eyeshadow could be applied on this firing or next. This has to be done before the eyelashes, which come in either one or two more firings, depending on how this looks when it comes out of the kiln. The colors do fade a touch in the kiln.

Thank you, I have to be careful, I can get pretty dramatic with eye makeup lol. Have to try to remember less is better with Miniatures :)

I actually have the same problem in real life. I generally do a light smoky eye on a daily basis. Sometimes I get a little too heavy handed with the eyeliner, though, and look like I'm going out on a hot date :D. Ah well. At least I look good! I can't imagine trying to keep it all in check in miniature!

That's about what I do too. I wear makeup everyday even if I don't leave the house. One of these times I'll make an over the top diva doll lol :)

She's just beautiful!  I had no idea that dolls like these require so many firings!  I am learning a lot watching your progress!  :)

Thanks! Now that I know what Im looking at, I can see that there are plenty of dolls out there that are only fired 1-2 times. Theyre just not as detailed, and sort of flat looking. But I do enjoy it, so I dont mind spending the time.
