Gallery Changes

Recommended Posts

I'll try to clarify them for you.

Under Hotlinking & BBCode, different methods are provided for you to post a link to the image page in the gallery here on the forum, or elsewhere for others to see. When you click in the cell with the code, it will be highlighted you are able to copy it, and then paste it wherever you like.

We will use this image as an example: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/i...i&img=14440

By BBCode, if you copy that and paste it, it gives you a thumbnail of the image plus a direct link to that image in the gallery if you click the image (to be used here on the forums or other forums): gallery_34_1124_47660.jpg

The HTML, would be used for websites, or other places that accept HTML.

Image Link, is a direct link to the image without the gallery page: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/uploads/gallery_34_1124_47660.jpg

And finally, a plain jane link to the page: http://www.greenleafdollhouses.com/forum/i...i&img=14440 (to be used in MSN conversations, or e-mail where bbcode nor html is accepted).

That's an overview of the 4 linking options when viewing an image.

Hope that helps.

Thanks for the info. I don't know any of the computer language and need to get a dictionary on just the terminology. The books I have use it all but if you don't know what it means you can't apply it. I have a Step by step microsoft windows book with a glossary but it may as well be in Greek. I used to type MRI's of the brain with and without contrast on a computer at the hospital. If the computer did something weird we just called someone to fix it and went on to the next report. I don't know anything but the very basic computer skills. It's very limiting. They have an adult ed course I should take but just haven't gotten to it. Thanks again. I can add a smiley face, but that's about it. :p

I love all the neat techno possibilities available to us - although I have to admit it's mostly gobbledy-gook to me. Every thousand years or so I learn another little piece of the puzzle, and feel very pleased with myself! :D
