SusannaT
I'm too lazy to go downtown to buy brick paper, I'd rather print it. Now I know you have links to good printies Would you share some, so the Arthur gets a foundation? Pretty please?

SusannaT
Thank you!! I think I found the one I have three walls up, siding glued and the inside walls primed. Hope to get some wallpaper up still tonight, then glue on the second floor and maybe try out the blue paint for the outside walls. My 5 year old keeps asking if it will be ready tomorrow She doesn't quite grasp the concept of "Hon, the glue needs to dry..."
havanaholly
For future reference, you can make your bricks from sandpaper and glue them to a grout-painted card template of the area you wish to brick.

Minis On The Edge
I love how you used the sandpaper bricks in your dollhouse Holly. I keep saying I want to try that technique one day too!
havanaholly
I love how you used the sandpaper bricks in your dollhouse Holly. I keep saying I want to try that technique one day too! Beryl Armstrong's book How to Make Your Dolls' House Special: Fresh Ideas for Decorating, page 93. Get yourself a pica ruler (1 pica = 1/6 inch), scale bricks are 1 pica x 3 picas. She recommends using paint to color the sandpaper, but I used chalk pastels randomly, with paint washes & dry-brushing to detail. BTW, Tracy, didja notice in the new AM Becky Winsor's article on making exposed brick? She makes the brick patches from paperclay & spackles the plaster around them. Next time we get together & you're teaching my paperclay & I'm teaching you dolls we can try that!
