Snowbird
Those are beautiful hutches. What all does it take to make them. That looks like something my girlfriend would be interested in doing. Snowbird

nuttiwebgal
tytyty I always know where to go when I need to feel good about a project although I am rather pleased with how it all turned out. Melissa I rather like the Purple on myself and did ya see the bowel of mushrooms? made them things myself. ok yall...would these things sell? and would you buy one and what do you think in an unreasonable price for them? I do so enjoy the filling up and decorating these kinds of things. thanks for the encouragement. nutti
hydroped
ok yall...would these things sell?YES! and would you buy one and what do you think in an unreasonable price for them? Now that question is harder to answer - everyone knows what a tight wad I am! I'm trying to remember what I've seen simular ones on ebay for and I'm pretty sure that most sell for about $20 and up - though I probably shouldn't have said that since I don't think I've looked this year to see what they're going for.. not this fall anyway but the ones I've seen last year and through the summer were about that price to begin with I think. Ok - just took a sec to do a quick ebay search using "dollhouse halloween hutch" - and I found 3 - Two are on on buy it nows for 22.99 and one that opens with a bid at 9.99 with no bids yet. They nice but not as full or as nice looking as yours are. They're Micheals hutches but yours are really full, really decorated well and I like the style of hutch you chose better.. that's just me, but maybe it will give you some ideas of where to start. <?> I love your hutches -David
Charlene
would these things sell? and would you buy one and what do you think in an unreasonable price for them? Absolutely they'd sell!!!! Just looking at the auctions on ebay for similar stuff, I know there's definitely a market!!! Yes, if I needed one I would definitely buy! Price? Hmmmm. Think $9.99 to $12.99 would be a good starting place, tho' I think they'd fetch $25-30 or more in bidding.
Deb
<grinning> Nobody does Halloween better than Nutti! They're adorable! I agree that they would sell well and in the $20 range. Are you doing some for other holidays too? You could come up with a great line of hutches for every holiday and season. Deb

Deb
I thought I'd remembered your Christmas hutches from last year. They were just sooooooooooooo cute! I haven't made scrolls, but I have made charts for both my wizard and witch, and it would just be one more step to make them into scrolls. I get parchment paper at Office Depot that works really well. I copied some documents (witch's alphabet, astrological charts, hex signs, etc) and converted them to jpegs, then sized them down and printed them out on the parchment. After I cut them out, I distressed the edges with a candle flame. I think they're kinda cool because you can actually read them with a magnifying glass. Here's a pic if you want to see what they look like. To make them into scrolls, it would be easy to use a mini dowel or a toothpick, paint or stain it and add a tiny bead finial to the end, then glue it to the top and bottom edges of the parchment and roll it down half a turn. If you rolled them all the way and then tied a piece of embroidery floss around them, you'd have a closed scroll. Deb

This is just my kind of mini-ing but I use inscense sticks (sp?) instead as that gives me a bit more controll over the burn factor to the edges. Like this thread!!!!!
