Not glued down yet until I finish the windows, but today I cut,stained the boards and painted some holly for what will be the kitchen area ceiling. This house has a very tall ceiling height so I thought I should give it some kind of appealing feature since it will be easily seen when looking into the room. I also added about 3 inches of length to the kitchen/living room separation wall with a piece of 1/4 inch thick (the width of the walls) balsa wood (will be covered with clay). I need more wall space in both rooms so this was a good solution.

PS....only 296 days til Christmas....

Yes, that's a huge relief, no deadline and I have time to stop and think about details. This isn't a very good picture, it was dark so I had my light shining on it...the design isn't as faded as it looks here:)

I thought I was seeing a floor at first, but no! This is awesome! I hadn't even imagined doing anything with my ceilings, I am so new at this. The holly is really pretty.
