The Prancing Pony

Dalesq

This image is for Blondie who always likes something in the photo to help you get a feel for the scale. :D That is a regular coffee mug sitting next to the wagon.

This is a precision cut kit. The only thing wrong with my kit was the interior divider for the bunk is cut lower than the floor of the bed area. At first I had planned to open this up as these wagons had a second sleeping area below the main one that was behind cupboard doors. But I realized it would be too small an area to work in once the kit was assembled, so I will eventually be covering the whole with non-opening cupboard doors when I finish the interior.

I did several complete dry fits during the build. But this is the first kit that I've built entirely "flat." I had to do lots of partial dry fits to get the trim layers positioned properly, but I glued all layers while working flat and then fit it all together. The details on it are really amazing :D

Ahaa.....interesting that you say you added the trim details to the kit while it was flat.  Looking at the McQueenie build workshop at the Miniature Designs shop, they built the wagon first and then added trim and painted.  I'm trying to figure what would work best....

Dry fits make all the difference and allow you time to catch any problems.
