2nd floor landing

Tigpuppy

The landing at the top of the stairs is finally done! I’m still playing with the furniture and accessories though. And I still need to add the baseboards.

Great use of space! I really liked how you moved the left wall over enough that the pieces of roof showing on the wall/ ceiling matches the right wall!

I honestly did not notice that until now when you said it. My intention was to have the same amount of space on the left-hand side of the window as there is on the right side of the other window.

I'm impressed with the crown molding you did! Working around the roof sections couldn't have been easy.

You can’t believe how much I wasted with all the wrong cuts I made until I got it right!

I, too, am impressed by that crown molding ! And I also really like the shiny Mr.Knight waiting in the corner...

But when you finally get it right, it's magic, isn't it? I am ridiculously proud of how I got crown molding to perfectly fit around one wall.  I may end up regretting this strategy, but I keep every little spare piece so that if my cut is too short, I can use carpenter's glue to reattach one of the off-cuts and try again.

I also love the personal touch of family portraits on the wall. Did you have to shrink them down? I managed to find a proof copy of my grandparent's wedding that perfectly fit into a frame I had.

These are photos of my maternal grandparents that I scanned in to my computer and shrank down to fit.  I am hoping to do more in the future.
