My first try making a wood floor with Skinny Sticks. It may be a little shabby chic but think I will like it. Plan to paint this one a pastel blue. I am gluing these onto a posterboard that isn't glued down in case I ever need to repair the light that is channeled through this room.

This takes much longer to do than I thought..........not sure how many floors I will want to do this way~ LOL I do though dearly love painted wooden floors!

It looks great! I made my skinny stick floor for the Beacon Hill using a piece of card stock as a template so I didn't have to lean in there. That might help if you want to do it again? I just glued the sticks to the card stock and then glued the card stock to the floor.

Thanks! I was going to do that, put it on the template out of the room, but was worried about getting the edges butted up real close. my baseboard is so darn skinny everything has to be up against it perfectly.! ugh

Looks great already! The time and hard work will be worth it and it should be beautiful after it is painted! Great idea about putting the wood onto poster board too.

My Beacon Hill is all skinny stick and yes it took a long time but I don't know i'll ever do a house without them - they look so nice.

That said, I also used a template and put the floors together while watching TV. Would have gone nuts if it did it in the house!!

Your floors are gorgeous! I had done popsicle sticks before on a house and they would NOT take the stain so I was afraid that the skinny sticks would do the same? I do like painted though too. anyway yes your floors turned out beautiful and so real looking!
