I decided to use this year's SF to experiment and try new techniques.

 

I scored and stained the floor and have sanded it and the score lines. I wanted a lot of color variation and am happy with it so far. I used stain pens to do the individual "boards," using Early American and Golden Oak. For the lighter boards I used less stain. I will need several coats of shellac or varnish.

Thank you. I like how yours turned out. I had been thinking of going darker all over, but decided to try lighter first, figuring I could always add more stain.
